OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

They need to go change their MVP votes and send him off properly. Rodgers doesn't deserve it he didn't win any games when he needed to and played like a ****y.

I hope Gronk plays one more season. If he does, he might just go to the highest bidder.

If he was beloved like Manning and Rodgers, I could see it, like a co-MVP. But remember, these are the guys that tried to ruin him with the deflategate fiction.

I can’t see him playing without Brady. If he does I hope he can burry the hatchet with Bill and finish his career in NE.

Where would he want to go if it’s not with Brady honestly? He looking to get another ring or just a good time? I haven’t the faintest clue what his priorities would be now.

2020: Business is business. I'm sorry Tom, but a year too early is better than a year too late. I don't care where he retires, and I kind of feel bad for him desperately going to Tampa Bay. In Bill We Trust. Sorry - I just can't be sentimental about something like this. Next man up!

2022: HE DIDN'T EVEN MENTION THE PATRIOTS!!!!!!!!!!!! OMG!!!!!!!!!!!!! THAT'S SO MEAN!!!!!!!!!!! I'M SAD!!!!!!!!!

Cut Smith and bring Gronk back!

Yep, I was here two years ago. I remember most of the reaction. And now at least some of those people are acting offended by this.

You reap what you sow. I am not sure the Patriots deserved to be mentioned honestly. I mean Brady had to watch both Brees and Big Ben get to finish when both had declined and he was not given that chance despite 6 friggin rings and having championship level football left.

He will honor them later but exactly. They made a 'business' decision 2 years ago saying no one can play well at 40 so you take the deals we offer or none at all so they can't possibly take it personally now. He's a Buc so he won't disrespect the team that believed in him in the end but he'll go down as a Patriot. These teams need to learn. Guys like Brady and Manning MADE THEM and still they can't control their own destiny. I said it 2 years ago: He should of been allowed to retire whenever he wanted here and anyone not cool with that should of been sent packing.

BTW Manning does NOTHING with the Colts now. He absolutely separated himself from their organization and identifies as a Bronco. Now he might have mentioned them in a retirement announcement I can’t remember but that was essentially it. He still shows up at Broncos events. Never Colts

Another irony. Brady in retirement actually left a year too early than a year too late. The Patriot Way.

I feel if he played one more season, it would have been perfect. If it was 2 seasons, a year too long.

He feels like the Pats gave up on him and they did. That was apparent in his retirement statement when he mentioned how Tampa believed him. Imagine just delivering your 6th ring, out dueling Mahomes at his place and being told we don't think you can do it anymore. Come back for one year on less money or good-bye. And that is just the ending not all the nonsense with Alex and the Jimmy stuff.

Those teams also tried to field competitive teams. while The Pat's shored up the defense but let the offense to rot resulting in Brady looking like he was in decline in 2019.

Also people are being incredibly moronic if they don’t think emotions will cool and he’ll refuse the Red Jacket. Come on, get a hold of yourself. He’ll be back for all that.

He lives in Colorado to boot. But you know, at least he was coming off major neck surgery with Luck sitting there in the draft. When you compare to Brady and his situation it is mind blowing that he didn't finish his career in NE. And now people want Brady to throw roses at the Pats org. I am sorry but screw that. I know he probably has something planned for later but I have zero issue with him leaving the Pats out of his official retirement speech. The Bucs believed in him.

I'm 100% on board with what Manning is doing. It's not exactly the same situation as Brady because they cut Manning when he was hurt to get a #1 pick. Ya it is BUSINESS as I'm sure people will say to defend them but it's also a coward move. He was not retiring and they should of let him try and come back. Instead they were cowards and they got what they deserved from Manning. Brees and Big Ben were allowed to go out the right way.

Bill invested in the side of the team that will make him look good. He often offers big contract to defensive guys like McCourty, Hightower or Gilmore but never on offense when Brady was here. Letting Welker go, Squizzing Amendola. Smith is paid more than Gronk ever did as a Patriots. Edelman was underpaid

The Pats believed in him for 20 years. It's unheard of for any organization to stick to their starting QB until the age of 42.
