OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I see them going 3-1 they will lose vs the Saints
You have to look at the whole division. A Brady led team goes 6-0 to 4-2 against their division opponents. I bet that has always been the case except possibly in 2002 when the Pat's were 9-7 for the season.

The Bucs were 4-2 last year and the mostly likely odds for this year is 5-1.

Depends on injuries and, of course, the Antonio Brown trial, which starts on December 6.

That suit is settled. There is no trial. His other legal issue, with the moving company, has also been concluded. He has no other known problems and his league suspension is served.

How many of those 104 games were with Brady? 98?
Yeah you can throw that stat out the window now as almost all of those games were BB plus Brady and his many 4th quarter comebacks.

With just BB it is a different ballgame, unless Mac can show he is a clutch player too. As a rookie he gets a pass, so we'll see next year.

Belichick (with Brady) at home, New England: 134-23 (.853)
Belichick (without Brady) at home, New England: 14-16 (.466)

Yeah...a lot of these crazy stats will need to be contextualized as with/without Brady.

Bucs announce they’re placing Carlton Davis on injured reserve, so he’ll miss a minimum of three games.

The next 10 games may get Bowles a head coaching job. He'll have the luxury of being ahead in games to help him determine how he wants to handle this. If he continues to simply blitz on every play things will get interesting. I think Dean will be back this week.

Defensive Backs

“Hopefully, Jamel Dean will be back. We’ll see what he can do today. Richard [Sherman] will have another week under his belt, Pierre [Desir and] everybody else, Mike [Edwards] and Jordan [Whitehead] will start at safety if Antoine [Winfield] can’t come back. We’ll just see how the week plays out, but we have enough guys. We’ll be more than ready.”

CB Sean Murphy-Bunting

“He’s making progress. He’s still probably a ways away, but he’s making progress.”

S Antoine Winfield Jr.

“Getting back so late – Antoine, it’s going to be hard to get out of the [concussion] protocol this week, probably, just because of the timing and the trip.”

This play just baffles me. The Patriots with their -1 yard attack, totally dominated on the LOS by the Bucs. Everyone in the stadium knows a run will get stuffed. Patriots put Jonnu Smith, a sub-par blocker, on the left side of the formation. No one on defense covers him as they all sellout blitz. Lol.

Worry about Justin Herbert more.
I am worried about Herbert.

My God what a mistake the Dolphins made picking Tua over him.

Herbert is going to be a top 5 QB for the next 15 years.

He's better than Lamar. Way better.

Better than Allen.

Mayfield isn't even in the same stratosphere as him.

Other than Mahomes, there's not a QB that can do the things Herbert does.

Ya what was that? Can't be communication issue just a mistake? Is that David?

The kid is pretty good when he knows where he's going and the target is wide open.

In division too so a lot of battles in the future between the two

Bad for the Chiefs, great for NFL fans. There should be great matchups for years between Mahomes and Herbert.

Lamar…lol.

Allen still seems suspect to me, and I don’t know why. But I’ll give him credit as he’s been able to sustain this into 2021. Maybe he’s just going to have a good career after all.

Mayfield isn’t even a solid starter…so much overhype for doing so little with a talented offense. If the Browns had a real QB, they’d be real contenders. He’s that classic nightmare scenario where you pay him like an elite QB and build your team around him, and at best he won’t drag them down.

Carr is pretty darn good too.

Imagine being a Broncos fan. You face three great to elite QB's 6 times per year.

Meanwhile....you are trotting out draft bust after draft bust at QB. Or Teddy Bridgewater. A solid QB. But solid isn't enough with those other QB's in the division.
