OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Frankly don't understand why he didn't jump on the Buc bandwagon once Brady joined the Bucs. Wasn't he drafted by the Bucs and played for them for several years? He doesn't cheer for them as I expect he would just as most of the talking heads gush about their fav players and teams. It's like Simms is ashamed for having been a Buc.
He believes Rogers is the GOAT and to lift him up he thinks he has to knock Brady down. He's been doing it for years

You don't think he knew about Gronk's concussion issues and surgeries before asking him to join the Bucs so that he can get hit more? LMAO...
Yes you're right. Brady is a serial killer. He trips old people for fun. Jesus what a tool....or what a troll you are. What are you, 5?

Well, I wouldn't put anyone's quality of life at risk to further my own career...that's just not me. That's who Tommy is, however. But to you Tommy can do no wrong.

“my own career”

Speaking of Gronk.

Take away the 1st Saints game where he only played a few snaps, in the other 10 games, he was averaging 66.5 yards per game and would have had 1130 yards if he played all 17 games. He's probably going to end the season with around 750 yards which is the most since 2017.

I really hope him and Brady come back next year. Brady doesn't have too many records left to break but Gronk is in the cusp of breaking or getting close to some records.

With a 1000 yards season, he'd be at 10249 and 49th in yardage, 4th for TEs.

With 10 TD, he'd be at 102 and 9th in TDs, 3rd for TEs.

He is tied with Gonzalez for the all time lead of 100 yard games for TEs at 31.

Him and Brady are I think 14 away for most TDs by a QB/receiver duo.

He is also a leader in games with multiple Tds. I can't recall his rank and the number.

Lastly, he stays ahead of Kelce. Him and Kelce are the same age so I'm interested to see whose wheels falls off 1st if Gronk continues to play two more years.

If this is more or less how it went down (AB hesitant to play on his sprained ankle which kept him out of practice all week), then the coaches, especially Arians, went about this HORRIBLY by saying "no, too bad, go in the game or get out". Obviously, Brown's reaction is unwarranted as a response, but why are you pressing and pushing the buttons of such an emotional player? Especially handling a player like that whose talent you'll basically be screwed without barring some major miracles from Brady. It's not like they would've expected such an outburst, but pushing him to play in the second last regular season game instead of keeping him healthier for the playoffs -- is absolutely stupid. They basically gaslit Antonio Brown, their best WR albeit with some temper & anger issues. Why the HELL would you do that?!

No he isn't. Chalking up AB's low moments to CTE is overblown, lazy, and such a baseless cope. There's been tons of WRs who've taken huge hits or definitely got concussions throughout their career, and none of them have ever come close to AB's antics. It's just the way he is and isn't some unique CTE trait. It's like assuming any cough or sniffle you hear = COVID.

Also, ANY QB throwing a pass to someone on the field is "risking that player's quality of life to furthur their own career". A concussion or career threatening injury can occur on any play at any given moment; especially when catching a pass. Such a stupid way to phrase things in order to attack Brady. If you genuinely held this as a concern, rather than pretending you care in order to attack Brady's character, then you'd stop watching football entirely -- but you won't.

It is still to be determined how it all went down. There is conflicting info coming out from both camps. Also, they were having issues with AB all season. Apparently the shine from the 2020 season didn't last to 2021.

Lastly, all of us here know what BA is like. No one ever said he is the brightest coach out there but his offensive philosophy meshes with Brady. For BA's system to work it requires talented receivers to beat their man and create their own separation. At age 44, Brady needs talent and not left hung out to dry with the likes of Nkeal, Gunner, Hogan, Watson, Izzo, that guy they traded for from Indyz etc.

Come on man, this is from yesterday morning! (Technically 2 days ago now since it’s midnight). There’s been other stuff since this PR crap via Rapaoport right from Browns camp.

McAfee and Bayless say that their sources close to the team specially McAfee, have told them AB got mad over Gronk getting more targets over him then had a conversation with BA and then that's when he went AB lol

Two days after Buccaneers coach Bruce Arians that receiver Bruce Arians is no longer a member of the team, Brown . . . is still a member of the team.

He hasn’t been waived, and he hasn’t been suspended. He remains on the active roster, with no moves made despite the things that Arians said publicly.

It’s unclear why the Buccaneers have taken no action. The Buccaneers have declined comment. The NFL Players Association, we’re told, is in the dark. Brown’s agent, Ed Wasielewski, has not responded to a request for comment.

This is pretty weird by now.
Yeah I don't get it. Is it possible that maybe some of our fellow posters here have been right in thinking they're working with AB behind the scenes after cooling off??

That would be incredibly strange, crazy, and probably immoral but I’m a crazed honk and I’ll backtrack on what I said yesterday if it happens because f.uck it what do I care I just want Brady to win at this point damn the hypocrisy.

I'm not sure what's going on. But I went back and read the article Deus posted and it could just be the Bucs needing a reason to suspend him or put him on IR so no team can sign him since they practice tomorrow and if he doesn't show up that becomes easier

I’ve never appreciated the great Lavonte David quite so much as I did watching the Bucs almost lose to the Jets. Getting him back for the postseason will be HUGE.

Antonio Brown update below: Antonio's friends were worried about the pain he was experiencing so they encouraged him to see a top surgeon outside the Bucs' organization. That visit and an MRI confirm his serious pain and that story is developing...
