OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I think if Tampa gets AB back, Gronk stays healthy and are healthy relatively on defense - they can go anywhere and win.
That defense has Aaron’s number - with Ab, Gronk, Lenny and Godwin they can move the ball on anyone.
the problem is they have 5 games left that’s a long long time - they need to stay healthy - that will be the difference between number 8. I have a feeling they will either win the SB or won’t make the SB

Well always possible that the Packers don’t stay healthy or maybe Rodgers wakes up in the morning and his spiritual fiancé tells him she had a disturbing prophetic dream and he must stay home and miss the game. He would be wise to heed her advice unlike ol Gaius.

Brady has 3771 yards passing and 34 TD with 5 games left.

Needs 1707 to break Manning’s season passing yards record. That is doable unless the Bucs sit him in week 18.

22 TD in his last 5 games to break Peyton’s TD record. That will be a lot harder but still possible. I think he at least beats his personal best of 50.

Mahomes or Rodgers will win it if it's close.

Still unclear where the “media screws Brady on awards” idea comes from. If it’s close, as in all three appear equally deserving, then sure: Brady is only about 33% likely to win in that case.

Rodgers individual numbers are much better than offensive production for the zillionth year in a row. Advanced stats, PFF, etc. will attest to Rodgers overratedness.

Mahomes could turn it on down the stretch. It would be impressive to run off like 8 wins in a row after that start.

Still I think if Tampa wins out, Brady gets the nod, even without the #1 seed. 14-3 plus 40+ TD passes, league’s #1 offense, and both the traditional numbers and analytics, would put him ahead of anyone else. Would help to keep INT total down too.

First posted odds from William Hill…may change based on early betting and Mahomes tonight. I was hoping Brady would be closer to +150, but it’s still a nice bump.

Arians said during his press conference that the touchdown scored at the end of the first half was due to a bad call. So it sounds like he was mostly putting the blame on Leftwich. That's pretty much how I saw it too. The bucs had not gained much on first down and there was under 30 seconds to go so it would have been better to just hand the ball to Lenny on that play rather than trying to throw it to him while Brady was standing in the end zone.

I think the Washington football team has overtaken the 49ers for the 6th seed. They actually have a pretty good chance of taking the division from Dallas because they play Dallas twice. Their defense appears to be playing as good as it was last year especially against the pass.

Brady's best throws of the game. So many dimes in this game.

Tom Brady on the pick-six: "The d-lineman caught it. We had a screen called and I saw Leonard, and the guy made a good play." #Bucs

Carlton Davis said he was getting an IV at halftime but could hear defensive coordinator Todd Bowles yelling at the defense loudly about them not playing up to their standard.

Bucs can clinch NFC South next week at home with a win over Bills, Saints loss at Jets and Falcons win over Panthers.

I may have to cheer for the Jets next week. A win is useless to them for this season, and harmful to them in the draft.

Tom Brady finished with 368 passing yards and four TDs today -- in his two seasons with Bucs, he now has seven games with at least 350 yards and 4+ touchdowns. All the other QBs in team history had eight such games, total, in 44 years before Brady's arrival.

Bucs' Chris Godwin already at 82 catches for 949 yards and five touchdowns. Needs five catches Sunday vs. Bills to reset his career high for a season, and needs 51 to reach 1,000 for second time in his NFL career.

After 99 today, Mike Evans is at 794 for the season -- needs 206 in final five games to reach 1,000 for eighth straight season to open his career, extending his record. On pace for 1,124, which means he'd get it in 16, too.

Bucs defense shut the Falcons out in the second half today -- that's the fifth time they've shut an opponent out in the second half since the start of 2020, after totaling five such games from 2011-19.

Looks like Manning is winning this year
