OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Brady needs 2 more TDs to get to 700 total TDs for his career. He is also 18 completions away from the all-time record held by Brees. If gets named to the Pro Bowl (right now he is leading all QBs with votes) he will have the stand-alone record for Pro Bowl selections with 15 breaking a 5-way tie right now between him, Peyton, Tony Gonz, Bruce Matthews and Merlin Olsen. All of them have 14. That is some pretty sweet company to move ahead of.

Brady still breaking records on a weekly basis. Many are Brees' records. Some are Mannings.

If Brady plays in 2023, I'm guessing that there won't be many league records left for him to beat except for Buccaneer franchise records.

Yeah. He is pretty much playing against himself. They were saying yesterday how this year is Ben's last year. He will retire at age 39 to go along with Peyton who was done at 39, Eli at 38, Brees at 41 and Rivers at 38. It is truly amazing what Brady is doing, not just starting at age 44 but the favorite to win league MVP. I feel confident in saying what he is doing in his 40s will never be matched.

Gronk now at 8,920 yards and 92 TDs for his career. Has a chance for 10K / 100 next year.

GRONK moved up a couple spot in the all time list and is a race with Evans and Kelce.

Another big advantage of the #1 seed in the NFC this year is the potential that one of the crappy teams (#6 or #7) pulls off a a fluke upset in the first round.

Yeah and specially for GB and TB. Greenbay has the cold and Tampa has the humidity

It took awhile, but Gronk finally moves up a spot in TDs.
Rice's TD record is amazing, looking at that list. Can't see anyone ever breaking it.

What athlete in all of sports had as many empty volume records as Brees?

Mahomes killed his MVP chances last night.

Another way to know that the Bucs need to keep AB around:

Breshad Perriman had a couple good weeks of practice and he brings an explosiveness, Bruce Arians said. He played virtually all the snaps as the third WR.

Jamel Dean is in concussion protocol but the Bruce Arians says he's optimistic they can get him out of protocol by Sunday.

Bucs coach Bruce Arians says Richard Sherman could return this week and may work some at safety.

I actually forgot Sherman was still on the team. LOL

Putting him at safety might be a really good move.

If he isn’t injured, he‘s in trouble long-term.

I suspect he might be injured. Despite what people claim, idiotically, no one has the arm strength to consistently make accurate downfield passes without excellent footwork and lower body leverage. He has simply been terrible at anything beyond underneath passes for about two months. The velocity appears to be there, but it seems he overcompensates by throwing too hard, causing a lot of misfires.

If you look at his play from previous years, his footwork is so quick. I do wonder if there are problems caused by that foot issue.

If it isn’t injury, and he’s fine physically, then he’s simply not an elite QB when defenses take away the first read (Reid is so good at freeing someone up) and then goad him into leaving the pocket and freelancing, where defenses have figured out it’s better to let him drift on his own and not overpursue.

Snap counts are out for Bucs-Falcons. On offense, Breshad Perriman got WR3 work with Tyler Johnson playing only 9 snaps. Howard, Miller barely playing.

Defensive snap counts for Bucs-Falcons show more rotation at corner, smaller role for Jason Pierre-Paul. More DL snaps for Nunez-Roches and O’Connor …
