OT: Official 2021 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I can't see Rodgers performing at a high level much past 40. He is more like Ben Roethlisberger then Tom Brady. Big Ben has looked more like a pudgy middle age adult rather than an elite athlete for a.few years. For Rodgers, it's more his face and bags under his eyes making him look middle age indicating to me that he doesn't get enough sleep and take care of himself nearly at the same level as Brady.

I believe that to play at an elite level into the 40s, one must be disciplined in taking care of your body in everything. Sleep, food, hydration, stretching, strengh training, rest, vitamins, sliding, not going for a fumble and being piled on (last NO game), etc.
Not only that, but I think Brady is still working on his game. I heard he is still spending hours to get better at throwing on the run. I am not sure Rodgers is still trying to expand his game.

His throwing on the run has been great this year. I wonder if the surgery has given him confidence.

Presumably so.

As good as Brady looked in 2020, he is looking better this year such as sliding around the pocket, and it's showing on the stats sheets.

It's been awhile since I've seen him throw on the run this much or this good. Has he ever thrown as good on the run as this year?

I think Big Ben is a very different player than Rodgers. Ben's solid frame and size made him very difficult to bring down and, for some reason, the refs were reluctant to call him in the grasp.

I hadn't really noticed it before you mentioned it, but Rodgers really doesn't look that well for a man in his 30's. He looks like crap.

This is the best I have seen him look. He was never great at throwing on the run but it is clear he has been spending a lot of time. I do wonder if having an offensive minded HC has him focused on things he never considered before.

Howe's predictions..

Bucs over Bills in SB

Brady MVP. If he beats Manning's yardage record even with the obvious asterisk I think it's going to hard to deny him MVP.

Chiefs out of playoffs. LOL that would be fun

Pats in the playoffs. I think that's probably an overreaction to the Chargers win but I also think a winning season is doable with hopefully bigger things to come in the next couple of seasons.

Brady beating the Bills in the SB would be an epic mind blow. LOL

Rodgers really does look bad physically. I think this off-season did take a toll on him and it was self-created.

The NFC is so top heavy that the bye and home field advantage is huge. Bucs are in a good position if they get at least the 2nd seed.

The AFC is the opposite. I don't think there is a favorite and each of the division winners are vulnerable for an upset from a wild card team.

IF KC is out of the playoff, it is huge as it opens up a playoff spot for the Pat's to potentially grab. The parity in the AFC opens a SB opportunity to whichever playoff team is hot and healthy.

NFC is gonna be favored to win the SB no matter who it is frankly.

Looks like Murray won't play vs Niners. GM said he wants to be cautious and keep the big picture in mind.

So with MVP contenders Prescot and Rodgers also missing a game, Brady is building a healthy lead in the stats department.

Only Stafford is currently within throwing distance.

Considering how badly Mahomes is playing, he is surprisingly still up there.

Any chance Obj makes it through waivers? Just off the top of my head, I can think of 3 teams that would claim him, Saints, Raiders, Falcons.

Will Pat's go for OBJ if given the chance?

No for Bucs as they have too much depth even with Brown, Gronk, Miller out.

Looks like he has a shot because the first report that they downgraded his contract to vet minimum seems to have been incorrect. Not many teams can fit his 7 million cap hit for the rest of the year and he no longer has any extra years which means he can't be traded for a mid/late round pick next offseason which decreases his value to certain teams. He's going to sign with a contender for vet minimum assuming he clears.

An outlier may be Cooper Kupp.

LOL, he beat your Bucs, didn't he?
He did? He actually threw a bad pick that would have ended the game but a penalty was called becuase a guy from the bucs who had his helmet ripped over his face ran into him while he was blind after the pick happened.
