I just stumbled upon this...

Apparently Jenkins was on NFLTA tonight and had a little blast about the players the Jets let go last year...all of them.

"We have some real men to come and step in for the women we lost".

Not only do he and his coach share pant sizes, they also share mouth pieces.

Jenkins really shouldn't be talking about "losses" being that he'll probably be lost for the year by Week 5.

That's great. I'm not sure I would have survived the week without another Jets thread.

Just saw the interview segment. As if I didn't need any further proof, Jamie Dukes just further proved his stupidity by claiming that Jenkins was not only better than Wilfork, but was possibly the best NT in the league.

Hey I actually think it is fun to watch the soap opera down there. The team would fall apart if they start losing games but I don't think they will alas.

I guess then it was fortuitous that fatso talked him out of retiring in the wake of his most recent off season knee surgery. You know what they say about football players who start talking about retirement...while their bodies are telling them they are physically checking out, it's the first step towards checking out mentally.

Only better at playing an immobile pile of organic material in the middle of the field that players need to run around rather than through. As Jenkins cannot move himself, it is too much to ask a running back to move that pile of goo.

Call me when Wilfat can do this.

Another washed-up Raider gulping down the GREEN Kool-ade.

I like Dukes as a person, and I'd love to party with him. As an analyst, one needs to remember that you can't spell analyst without anal.

Man has some serious baggage, and some serious prejudices to overcome.

Respects,

What, run in a straight line? Vince can do that. Now, let's talk mobility.

Call me when Jenkins can move laterally at a speed faster than the earth's tectonic plates.

LOL at Jenkins and the Jets. They really do suck.

You take that guy, we'll take the guy who can cover 5 yards in under 5 seconds

We can take the guy who can play a little more than just 6 games.

BTW, I am no fan of Jenkins, but he is right about some of his former teammates. Kerry Rhodes was a disruptive Primadonna. Granted they replaced him with Tomlinson, Cromartie, and Holmes. Not exactly an upgrade in character.

I hate Jenkins with a passion but I think in Rex Ryan's defense he is "better" than Vince Wilfork due to his ability to shoot gaps, penetrate, and cause disruption in the backfield. However if running a defense like ours, Wilfork is the better option IMO due to his size to eat up blockers, technique, and because I think he's a little better at stopping the run.

BTW, Jeff Saturday was on NFL Network recently and he ranked his top 5 toughest DL to face. Jenkins was third, Wilfork was second. So there's insight from a guy who is actually going up against them during year.

NFL Network - Best in the biz: Defensive Tackle

When healthy in the early/mid 2000s, Jenkins and Seymour were the best interior lineman in the league and 3rd place wasn't even that close.

Jenkins is still a very good player, but injuries, weight and a little bit of age have slowed him down. VW is a better player.

In their primes, I would have taken Jenkins but certainly not now.

You mean knock over an off balance offensive lineman, kudos for him for taking advantage of a guy off balance but it's not some great feat of skill and strength. Wilfork is much more complete and consistant a performer Jenkins is a good player but I'll take wilfork everyday and twice on sunday.
