OT: Josh Simmons steal of draft

Also, at this point Millennials are like 45 years old. I think we can stop referring to them like they're naive children.
This was a few years back. So adjust the age lol.

1981 is the cut off, so they are roughly at least 42-43 years old which is my age. I see Millennials still keep getting lumped into the category of soft Gen Z. We didn’t hide behind computers and the elder Millennial’s as Iliza points out are nothing like them.

But that’s how it goes. Every generation hates the next.

For Sam:

Simmons would have been my pick at #4. Despite being a Chief, I'm rooting for the kid - and rooting even harder that Will Campbell turns out to be better.
What’s gross is we could have traded down and added more impact players, and get Simmons but that’s water under the bridge now.

What trade was on the table? Again, look at how the draft went. Everyone felt the same way you did, so no one wanted to trade up once Hunter and Carter were off the board.

What's gross is that 31 other teams wouldn't oblige us by trading up just because there was no value in doing so. How rude of them.

Simmons had the same injury to the same knee as Strange.
Strange apparently hasn't recovered.
it would have been foolish to take Simmons at #4 not knowing if he would adequately recover or not
kid has yet to play a single regular game snap
I am wait and see on him

I never said take him at 4, it would have been a trade down at least into the 20s.
But it’s cool we are rolling with Will who should be nasty in the run game. Has a tough tough task this Sunday in the passing game.

Ok. Name one single trade offer that the Pats had on the table like you are claiming. Just name one. What team and what was the offer? Go ahead. We are all waiting.

Agree 100%, but this is only half of the problem. Patella tendon is the largest in the knee. It’s the harvest site for other knee repairs. There is no harvest site for it. Because of how it’s repaired the rates of re-injury are MUCH higher than other knee injuries.

Even if he’s back and 100% he’s damaged goods. With that injury a long career is unlikely. He’s a super pick for the Chiefs. They are in their window and will take a 3-4 year career. Pats aren’t. He wasn’t a good choice for us.

Cool, just need to find a mug to trade up in a draft that is known for being very light in top talent.

It's almost impossible to come up with a trade package to trade down from #4 to the 20s in one transaction, and even harder to make a chain of trades to get down there, especially when there wasn't a single trade between 5 and 25.

Pretty good movement for a guy coming off a major knee injury.

Happy with Campbell, wish Simmons the best.
Simmons was my top graded LT but I was put off by the injury. I'm really happy for him that it doesn't seem to be affecting him.
