OT: Jonnu Smith hates Buffalo (Edit: BB talk)

Williamsville and Clarence are decent. I always get depressed driving through that part of the country. They are hard core bills fans out there. Imagine rooting for a team that hard for that long that suck that bad. Even in the good to great years they … suck. It has to wear on their psyche… makes everyone depressed. I’m sure the avg western New Yorker has a least 50% of their wardrobe with a Bills logo on it …
Williamsville and Clarence aren't Buffalo. Those are suburbs.

The comment about one or two blocks tells me you're the "Cities are dangerous" type.

But even if you just like the surrounding countryside, the comments are even weirder since Western New York and upstate New York are absolutely gorgeous when it comes to the natural environment.

My brother has been trying to get me to go to Buffalo with him because there is a place he says has the best pizza, him and his wife drive up there from Mass. to go get the pizza and then the next night wings at the anchor bar. A friend of ours is from Buffalo who always told us it’s the water that makes the pizza dough so good. A long way to go to try a pizza, I told him I’ve been there a couple times for Pats games. He sent me a picture of the pizza, it looked really greasy. I’m guessing sooner or later I will go with him, I’ve agreed twice but we’ve had to cancel each time.
Buffalo pizza, in general, is pretty awful. Tons of cheese and sweet sauce. I make my own. The only thing I can think of is they might visit Jay's Artisan Pizza which is very high ranked internationally, but it's Neapolitan pizza. There are only 2 other good pizza places in the entire city (Extra Extra which is NY style and Pizza Florian which is Neapolitan) but none of them make Buffalo style pizza.

Don’t know why they couldn’t have put their new stadium in downtown Buffalo. Good location. There’s a casino nearby also a minor league park and Keybank center where the Sabres play so there’s plenty of room if they wanted it.

There will be an increase of broken parking lot tables on Nov. 3

I go fishing every year on the Great Lakes, I like it up there just weird how they close everything so early, 6pm we couldn't find an open liquor store on a Sunday.

The way you explained Buffalo pizza is exactly what I imagine it to be. I will ask him the name of the place and let you know, if I ask him he’s going to ask me again. It’s definitely not a Neapolitan pizza.

It must’ve been awesome living up there during our run.

When I was a teen liquor stores in Mass closed at 11 pm Saturday and could not re-open until Monday. The law resulted in the reverse of the desired effect, as everyone overbought 'just in case' before the package stores closed on Saturday night. This was back when blue laws were still in full effect, with retail stores all closed on Sundays. In the mid-70s the legislature started finally making some concessions such as letting malls open on Sundays between thanksgiving and christmas. If you missed out and wanted beer on a Sunday your choices were a bar, drive to NH, or find a friend who had served in the armed forces to go to the naval air station in Weymouth to buy for you.

In the early eighties I recall going to Connecticut on business trips, and if you wanted beer or liquor from a store, then you had to buy it before 8:00 pm. There were lots of dry towns not far from Boston (Needham and Wellesley come to mind; I'm sure there were plenty of others) back then. I was genuinely shocked to find that a dry town was actually something happening so close to where I lived; at that time I thought dry towns were strictly a thing from podunk deep south towns, and had no idea there were dry towns in eastern Mass.

Huge mistake. Owner was worried about selling PSLs because there would probably be no tailgate culture downtown (which I imagine is true). But there are a ton of bars down there.

That guy has all the physical ability a tight end could ask for. Something must be amiss above the shoulders for him to be bouncing around between so many teams.
I don’t nu why

Jonnu hated a lot of things in the northeast, including learning the playbook, making plays and blocking

The city I grew up in and where we raised our kids was dry for many, many years. It was funny because they called themselves a dry town but the trash bags would be overflowing with empties. The liquor stores in neighboring cities and towns made a killing.

Jonnu Smith is an ok player who only Sucked with us. Let's hope he doesn't get matched on Bentley or Tavai advantage Jonnu and Miami.

He's a gadget player, Bill was dead set on him being a TE.

Jonnu is an HBack more than a TE, he has rushing plays in his toolbox. He’s more Kyle Juszczyk than TE.

He came to NE and had an offensive coordinator in McDaniels who didn’t want a HBack or two TE sets. Josh wanted a traditional FB who lined up exclusively in the backfield. The first free agent he signed as Raider’s coach was Jakob Johnson.

Take that, add a terrible QB into the mix, a great TE1 in Hunter Henry and Jonnu had no role here. He thrived in Atlanta showing he wasn’t the problem.

“I don’t know how those dudes do it. I don’t know how they did it. I don’t know how they did it, man. Going from anywhere in the country, man, and going to Buffalo. It got to be the worst place you could be.”
That's going to leave a mark..... Bills fans will have that game circled on the calendar. It might be one of the 5-6 games he misses with injury though. lol

Henry is an above average TE. Great? Wouldn’t go that far.

Also re “a terrible QB” it was actually 1 QB who shouldn’t be a starter and isn’t anymore (Jones) and another one who shouldn’t be in the league at all and likely won’t be after August.

Go out and get some sunshine grumpy.

Hunter Henry led the entire NFL in TD’s by a TE in 2021 with that crappy QB… but you think anything Patriots under BB sucks.

No Pat’s fan can take you agenda driven fans seriously, you’re like a caricature of a fan. They literally made fun of you Brady ball washers in Ted 2. Get a grip and take your zoloft.

"in 2021"... lol.

I wouldn't put Henry in the top 10 for TE's - that doesn't define a "great" TE.

"Agenda" lol. Brady must be rent free in Team Bill's head... why else would he be brought up in a topic that has nothing to do with him?

Randy Moss had 500 yards receiving in 2006 because his QB sucked and he was playing behind the worst line in the NFL… but you think receivers produce in a vacuum. Learn the game.

The mods here had to build you guys your own safe space in 2020 because you couldn’t cope. Now he’s been gone for years, so complaining about Bill and his players is all you have left.

The bad man is gone, you can move on with your life.

Well when he was here he seemed to hate football, so maybe it's not the location.
