Would you be ok with trading for AJ Brown

I would want him for the simple fact that if the Patriots are interested it's because Vrabel wants him and Vrabel knows the guy more than anyone.

Without Vrabel it'd be tough to want him right now given his situation in Philly but none of us know what he's really like and how much of this is caused by relationship issues with Hurts/Sirianni.

I said it before Sunday night's game, after seeing his performance this weekend and the number of passes he dropped when it counted in the playoffs, I'm no longer on board. Watching that was pretty shocking, and it absolutely changed my mind on him.

It’s still the same hit. Hurting you in multiple seasons doesn’t make it better.

Of course it does. That is why players have voidable years in their contract where their cap hit is spread out for years beyond their contract.

The knowledgeable Eagles fans i've spoken to want Patullo's head on a spike. No creativity.

Iggles had line problems but also I think Saquon suffered 2k fatigue.

Saquon definitely was fatigued from 24'. The numbers the following season for guys who had as many touches as he did were terrible, and it definitely impacted this season.

I'd only want Brown on the team if he is replacing Diggs

What's wrong with having both based on the First Place Schedule next year?? The Majority of our Schedule are Playoffs Teams.

I know $h!t Happens but that have to be the Toughest Schedule on paper next year.

No

The Eagles paid him what he wanted and Brown has been nothing but a distraction. Draft the next great NE WR.

I don’t really see the whole team cancer thing. He read a self help book on the sidelines and his statement after the Eagles one was complicated if you take time to read the whole thing. It reads to me more “the work of being a reciever and seeing the results is the most important thing,” to me, not “I only care about getting the ball.”

Compared to Antonio Brown and Josh Gordon, this is nothing. There’s nothing to convince me he’s going to do anything other than work hard and be available to play.

On the other hand, he will cost picks and money. Pats need the picks for OL, pass coverage LB and edge. Don’t know there are picks left for a shiny new weapon. Give Drake time, the offense will get it done.

There may be weapons: Alec Pierce, Kyle Pitts who will only cost money.

BLUF: its complicated that’s why RLKAG NEEDS to be an option in this poll

I had the same feeling too Ian; but there's something wrong with that Eagles Offense entirely. They were so Inconsistent all season: lost some strange games too. Well nobody perfect and A.J. don't like being there: I'm on the fence either way.

I think the problem is the QB. Hurts with the best OL, best RB and 2 pro bowl level WRs and a good TE is a pretty good QB.
Hurts with less than the best group of 10 in the league surrounding him and being relied upon to elevate them isn’t good.
Hes def not an elite passer and not in the class of Allen, Maye, Stafford, etc. A very, very, very good game manager.

Good game manager means needs the other 10 to win for him.

Correct. If you dropped him in the Bills or NEP offense he wouldn't come close to Allen or Maye's production.

And you can’t sustain a championship caliber team with a qb who need to be carried. Eagles are paying an awful lot of money to a guy who won because he had the best team around him and can’t win without the best team around him.

It sounds like AJ Brown and Siriani just didn’t seem to mesh this year. I’m thinking he gets traded this offseason.

The ONLY way I would want him on the team is if he only cost a 3rd round pick when it comes to a trade. I have so much faith in Vrabel, that I think he could turn Brown’s attitude around to being a good teammate. He’s the ONLY coach I think can do it, especially since he coached him in Tennessee, and was against Tennessee trading him to Philly.

What are your thoughts ? Me personally I’d be a bit nervous, but I’d be ok with getting him for a 3rd round pick because of Vrabel.
The poll question is would I be OK with the Patriots trading for AJ Brown.

I've been a big fan of AJ Brown ever since the draft. I wanted the Patriots to take him but for some stupid reason somebody thought N'Keal Harry was a better draft choice.

Brown's regular season production has also been to put it mildly elite. He's one of the most talented WRs in the league and he's still only 28 despite it feeling like he's been in the league a long time now.

So if the Patriots could bring in Brown now it feels like a Randy Moss situation. You try to bring in a guy who is checked out with his current team but has a ton of talent.

Right now we have a strong leadership in place with Mike Vrabel and the whole team is bought in. Can you survive adding a potential malcontent but also a guy who might buy in because the whole team is pulling in one direction? I think it's possible.

It's still gonna be risky. Diggs has been the ideal pro and he doesn't complain even if he only sees the ball 3 times in a game because he just loves winning. I don't know if you can do the same with AJ Brown.

Now the compensation is the real sticking point. I don't think you can risk much more than a day 3 pick. That way you can cut your losses if the trade doesn't work out. Overall I would be ok with taking the trade risk if we're only giving up a day 3 pick. Otherwise, much as I admire Brown's talent, I feel like the risk is probably too high.

...and if you believe what happened in TN which was Vrabes losing his **** when Robinson traded him to Philly at the behest of Strunk, he'll be welcomed with open arms here.

Sure, if the cost is a 3rd or whatever. More than that no thanks.

We've seen the right situation really benefit a malcontent. On our team and others. Moss, Bryan Cox, Diggs, Corey Dillon - all guys who had a reputation for being problem children/me first types who came to a team and bought in.

Ultimately I'm so impressed with what Vrabel has done that I'm gonna assume that if he brings in Brown it'll be for good reason.

Yeah, he's not replacing Pop and his 2 targets a game.

And the Eagles are not going to give him away.

Post June 1st is really only option for a Philly trade.

If the price is right, sure why not? Him, Diggs and whomever else would be formidable next year.

There's just been so much BS surrounding him even amidst a winning situation that it's turned me off to him. The idea of the player he is fits the roster well and there is the Vrabel connection so if they pursued him I'd trust it, but my initial view is that he doesn't seem like someone I want.
