I don't drink when I go because I won't pay the ridiculous prices for a beer.
I don’t drink much at games because I don’t want to spend the entire time pissing.

I’ve been to several away games and I usually don’t wear my Pats colors openly (especially in the parking lot) and I just shut up and I’ve never had anything close to an issue.

Tune I know you‘ve been a long time STH. I have also had ST for 30 years. Had them in the 80’s for 3 years
It is like night and day from the old days
It was the O.K. Corral in the old days. Bringing a younger fan back then was like rolling the dice
Presently it is pretty mellow. You always get a few drunken cowboys. But they get put in their place pretty quickly

With resale of tickets to NFL Ticketmaster the STH is not held responsible if someone gets in trouble. Only if they sell them on their own

Worst fans I have observed. Philly and Ravens

Yeah. Years ago it was explained to me that STH were responsible for bad actors in their seats whoever it was, but I'm sure that has changed with resale via the NFL ticket exchange on Ticketmaster. I'll bet whoever owns the seats involved with this incident will be contacted as part of the investigation just to flesh out the story, although they won't be penalized in any way.

The worst fans I've encountered: @ the Jete and @ the Chargers in San Diego.

I come from a small town. Used to go to games when I was down there ~2001 ish and have been to NFL games in other cities. I have to tell you, it IS scary going to these events. I played sports my entire life, there is so many positive things they teach. But the fandom relative to pro sports, this is too much man. I simply have no desire to plan a trip to any game...i want to go...but the hassle is just too much...to dicey Get in an opposing stadium and trouble finds you. My heart goes out to this family.

I've been to games in Carolina, San Diego, and Oakland. Yes. IN Oakland wearing my Pats jersey. I didn't fee uneasy in the Stadiu. I felt uneasy going to the game because it was Oakland.

I always represent the Hood - KC, SD, Chicago, Indy, Denver, Pitt, St Louis, Minnesota, NYJ, Cinn, Atlanta, plus 7 Super Bowls.

F them. Nobody is going to tell me what I can and cannot wear.

Very sad story ... feel for the family.
I saw a still photo of it ... vicious not just a haymaker.

Photo is here ... rather not post it ... Mooney had no chance to defend himself.

I'm not saying that this is why the guy hasn't been charged... but doesn't this video also show that Mooney had a choke hold on the Dolphins fan's throat? I imagine that the guy is claiming that he feared for his safety due to that choke hold, so maybe the police feel he was defending himself?

Either way, such a tragic end to what should have been a fun night at the stadium.

Aa a Bay Area resident, Oakland has actually gotten pretty nice over the past 5 years...SF is a different story ha

I went back in 08... So, its been a minute.

The only video I've seen shows a guy in a RED Jacket trying to hold the Phins fan from behind. There is another guy in a Grey Hoodie with something yellow on it's back who looks to be between them. Next to hoodie guy is a guy in an Orange shirt. There's a guy in a blue shirt who seems to be trying to hold back Mooney. I don't see a "choke hold" being done by Mooney, but the video really isn't the best.

Has there been an alternate video showing a different angle released?

Someone wearing a Tyreek Hill jersey threw a punch and killed someone?

Did they have to use a picture of him like he just smoked a ton of weed?

It is confusing, but in this still photo:

Isn't the guy in the white shirt with the tan stripes being held by his throat by Mooney on the right? I suppose the hand could be the person in the red shirt behind him.

We'll find out soon I guess.

I'm just wondering out loud why they have yet to charge the punch thrower. There has to be some reason. I can only imagine that a self defense argument is at play. After all, Mooney is the one who came over to the Dolphins fan's seat in the first place.

We used to go to Buffalo regularly, back '04-'08, before the Bills Mafia got out of control. We didn't wear our colors in the stadium, but didn't hide in the lots, either. Folks were always cool to us, good banter and lots of shared food and drinks.

We had a 4pm game one year, and we opted to have dinner in the lot, it was cold so we put sides on the easy up tent, complete with the Pats logo on it. A couple hours goes by, and there's a knock on the tent, it's the police. The Bill's Mafia is burning someone's car, and, in the cop's words, "time for you Pats fans to go home." We made them a plate of leftovers and they waited while we tore down. We left without incident.

I just posted that apparently there was a medical issue found by the autopsy. I'm not a lawyer but I'm assuming this will affect the charges against the Miami fan.

Depends. If Mooney started choking the guy out, it's self defense.

looks like the hand you pointed out is the guy in the red shirt trying to pull him away from behind. With hand on shoulder not neck.

reason not to charge is fight did not cause Dale’s death. Autopsy found no evidence of traumatic injury, but did find evidence of a medical condition.

You can be charged with manslaughter if you attack someone and they have a heart attack and die during or immediately after the fight.

You can be charged anytime a prosecutor wants to charge you.

but will you be convicted?

I mean sure. But I don't think a prosecutor is going to hit the guy with tax evasion or driving without a license.
