Sometimes it just takes getting hit in the right spot, doesn't matter if it's Mike Tyson throwing the punch or some chicken **** Dolphins fan. The autopsy will be key in determining the actual charge. Don't know much about the victim, but health issues could've contributed to the "medical event" that killed him, just as much as the punch, meaning involuntary manslaughter, or an even lesser charge.
Didn’t a little white guy sucker punch and knockout suge knight at a barbershop

So being a fan in another team’s place is one thing. But this brutish soon to be felon did it as a supporter of the visitors. He was in the distinct minority.

All I can say is wow. I guess the fans around this incident were too intimidated to try to stop him or alert security. Or even retaliate.

Gone are the days of manners and decorum. And swift justice.
Here’s what I can’t wrap my head around. So no other Pats fans did anything when this Dolphins fan throws a couple punches and then Dale Mooney falls to the ground. I can’t imagine what would happen in my section, one thing that would’ve happened is someone would’ve walked and gotten security. Did this guy stick around or did he take off right away? Maybe the person they arrested is the person ( sure hope so).

You don't know what murder is and yet I'm the simp.

We get it. If you was there none of this would of happened on your watch and you would of settled the score with your fist the hero that you are.
I understand your point about its not being technically murder, but such technicalities are trivial at this point, and you are a cowardly punk for making that the core of your reaction to this. As for what I would have done, I would have assisted others in restraining the killer, and would have been entirely content with whatever degree of suffering he incurred in the process. You, I assume, would have been madly scribbling little notes about legal trivialities.

Sounds like they have the guy in custody, at least according to this witness:

Kilmartin recorded the commotion happening four rows behind him and shared it with investigators right after it happened.

“The guy in the Dolphins jersey got hauled away by police and that’s when everybody noticed something was wrong a minute or so later the guy still hadn’t made any movement it really didn’t look like he was breathing,” said Kilmartin.

That’s good they grabbed him right there. I’m guessing they are getting all the facts before officially charging him.

Its dangerous going to a sporting event and especially football since tailgating is tradition hours prior to the actual game.

Some people are offended at the very notion that an opposing fan is there at all. Add drinking and maybe drugs and murder is absolutely possible.

Ive never been to Gillete for a game, but I have been to at least 16 regular season road games. I have discovered that trouble and stupidity is easier to find in the upper less expensive seats. Pay more and sit closer to the field with a better vantage point.

Yeah. We wouldn't want to punish a murderer. Might hurt his feelings or trigger him into getting all weepy.
Not trying to pee in the hometown cheerios but how we do we know the "victim" didn't start it and the Phone fan was defending himself?

I haven't read anything that provides any witness accounts.

I think battery is battery and in this specific case the hit was severe enough to cause death or lead to it. I guess the defendant can say he diddnt mean to kill the guy
I think it's safe to assume a dude going to a football game, especially if he travelled their from Miami with friends or family, didn't intend on killing anyone.

Unfortunately he killed someone. I have a way to 100% sure I dont kill anyone. Its called dont punch anyone in the head
To be clear I meant going to the game with the intent.

Alcohol and adrenaline people make decisions they otherwise wouldn't.

I'm sure that dude can't believe it happened either. When I was younger I used to get ripped before the games. Now I have a few and just enjoy the game. If I want to tie one on I go back to the house or hotel.

Nobody here thought there was intent to kill

Don't think we're back to the drunken riots, which included multiple deaths, which got us banned from Monday night for many years until Kraft bought the team.

Mr. Kraft hired a Nazi Storm Trooper squad to handle security when CMGI opened, overdoing it but I guess effective as a deterrent.

Mr. Kraft has the habit of throwing money at things hoping it fixes them: Bledsoe, Hernandez, promoting the flying elvis, a silly large video board.

While not spending it on players, or facilities, or employees (except Belichick).

I'm a coward because I said that beating people up is how we got here in the first place?

Stay out of it if you're gonna make it personal. Dude was killed. My argument was that we don't start beating on people cause two dudes are fighting in the stands.

You wanna get involved? Throw a fist and kill someone? Over a fight that has nothing to do with you? Well you're the coward.

Edit

I never trivialized this. This person was killed and whomever did it needs to pay a price. I was simply saying in reply to someone else that perhaps beating the person up wasn't the correct action. You're reply says as much as you advocate for restraining.

Theres alot at play here. First off, no one could realistically know the guy was actually dying. That's not something you see in a fight all the time. The guy who died was also engaging in the scuffle and putting him self in a bad spot. He didn't deserve to die but he shouldn't also be out here trying to fight anyone.

I've also read that the person who punched him isn't even the person he was engaged with. So that brings a whole new element of wtf.

I am not supporting him in the least. Whatever the maximum punishment is for killing someone should be what he gets. No excuse for it. I was simply saying that maybe throwing fist on him wouldn't be appropriate considering that's how we got here in the first place.

Do you actually believe this stuff or are you just ranting? I will note, however, that Flying Elvis absolutely DID cure multiple ills -- money well spent, whatever the sum. :)
