Great goal but now 11 in defence for both teams. England packing defence to stop front 3 of Italy ......flashes of excitement but also dull periods.

The Shaw goal was very impressive. England is athletic and attacks on the counter in numbers - they’re a fun team to watch.

I actually think Italy is in pretty good shape. The early goal seemed to wake them up and give them an urgency they needed. 62% possession in the first half.

Such contrasting styles of play - Italy maintains possession and builds up. England is extremely athletic and play direct off counter attacks. Both styles are fun to watch in their own way.

It’s been an enjoyable game to watch. Both teams have done themselves proud. Here’s to a good second half.
