OT: Coaching firings around the league

“I would say the biggest difference between Bill and Staley is relationships. (Staley) has relationships with every single player on the team. It’s really impressive how he can work a room. He’s got everybody’s number in (his) favorites. He can call them right then and there. And any player, he reaches out. I respect that. In this new age of players, you’ve gotta do that. And he’s done a great job of that.”

No wonder Staley sucks as a HC.

What the hell else can he say? Hey, I screwed up and took a guy who's got so many issues that he shot himself out of Seattle? I gave up a king's ransom for a guy who is eventually going to get me fired? Our OL room can't stand this guy, and it's a huge problem in the locker room that the next coach is going to have to fix? Ownership should launch Paton as soon as possible.
Indeed. How he survives is a mystery, but he just got a public vote of confidence by the owner. He also got kinda pushed sideways in the organization since the new coach won't report to him, will report to some person to be named later. Seems like the Waltons are screwing that team up.

Brandon Staley bought time finally making the playoffs.

Kliff Kingsberry is a dead man walking.

Kevin Stefanski gets one more shot with Watson.

Brandon Staley; 18W since 2021, no playoffs

Kliff Kingsbuerry; 23W since 2020, 0-1 in the playoffs

Kevin Stefanski; 25W since 2020; 1-1 in the playoffs

Xxxx Xxxxxxxxx; 24W since 2020; 0-1 in the playoffs

Houston is just one big mess. Two years in a row, a one and done coach. Obviously their record was poor, but did anyone really think they could turn around the team in one year? Especially without a franchise QB. From afar it looks like their ownership is just as incompetent as the Jets.

CAM ACHORD, MATT PATRICIA, PLEASE !!!!

I mean if we're going after O'Brien or a bigger name I suppose you'll hear soon. But Bill probably isn't in a rush to tell us who the next unnamed coordinator will be.

Glad Lovie Smith got one over on Houston before ultimately getting fired.

That two point conversion was an FU to the entire Texans organization.

Instead of getting 1st OA, they will need to give away picks to the Bears or stay put without a legit QB in house.

There are like 5 legit QBs in the draft, they'll just have to settle on one of the others. Totally agree it was a great FU to the Texans, proving just how dysfunctional that organization is. They are the Texas Jets.

Thing is since Pats don't have any designated coordinators, Bill doesn't need to announce anything. Chess vs chequers. It's genius.

Houston winning yesterday is this franchise in a nutshell

From a FA standpoint it's in the team's best interests to name an OC.

FA players - especially WRs want to know what system they will play in and For whom. For all we know Meyers hated this offense.

Whether they have the title or not, long as we know who is actually calling the plays. It is annoying how Bill is so weird with these coordinator titles.

I think the Broncos would be stupid to hire Mayo or any defensive minded head coach. They have mortgaged their future on Russell Wilson. They need to hire a head coach who is going to fix him. That is the #1 priority of the Broncos right now.

Calling plays, running the scheme, developing the game plan, personnel packages, mentoring the QB, designing routes so WR/TE don't bump into each other is required.

BB is not Mike Shanahan. He needs someone with deft offensive coaching ability.
