or Paul George
Nah. The Celtics would still be the team to beat. Paul George lost his jump shot sometime after that horrific leg injury and still hasn’t been able to get it back.

People said that when he joined the Heat and then the Cavs again as well. That argument didn't hold water then and it wouldn't hold water in this situation due purely to the fact that James is one of the best (if not THE best) distributor in the game. Give him quality teammates and he's shown to be unstoppable in the East. That's not to save that the C's aren't a damn good team. They are. But they would still be second fiddle to that Philly team with James added.

neither team had the pieces in place that philly does.....don't see the mass sum working out

I'd like to see the C's go after the Rockets Clint Capela to replace Baynes

Am I the only one who thinks Ben Simmons is overrated?? There is no way he can be effective long term in the NBA, a player who needs the Ball in his hand but can't shoot a lick. That ain't going to cut it against Good Teams. Rondo and Smart are way better shooters than Simmons and that's not a compliment.

celts needs a split in their place

Simmons is also pretty much a rookie. It's not unheard of for a rookie to improve the more time he spends in the game.

Cleveland could have easily lost to Indiana if the Pacers played a little better. I will say this "IF" Tatum - Brown - Rozier and above Average AL Horford plays well against Cleveland we win. The Celtics just need a Decent Big who just rebounds and they would be well over the top.

Agreed, love him or hate him you cannot deny LBJ's impact and ability to transform a team and elevate the play of his teammates.

I am not knocking him Kontra: Simmons does a lot of things well that's why I said long term..I am just surprised he never developed a shot. Sometimes it seems like he doesn't even want to shoot it. I am intrigued to see how he looks next season and if he adds a shot to his repertoire. Simmons have to develop a shot to keep the D honest.

LBJ needs another Super Star like Kyrie though he can get through the somewhat weak East now. But against GS no chance it will be a up hill climb all the way they will get swept in Four. LBJ is not exactly spring chicken either alto of miles of those tires and he has to score 35 to 40 for this current Cavs Team to win. A one man Team cannot challenge GS. Celtics young Team could surprise these Cavs if they play like they are now.

Some Philly fans were saying they all set and don’t need LeBron. Whoops.

Ben Simmons is an outstanding talent and he has been successful applying that to the floor and being productive. For his first year actually playing at this level, he had a very good year. He still has plenty of room to grow. Lots of rookies need more time to develop an outside game. I'd take him in a heartbeat.

Smart & Co got deep inside his head last night both with their defensive scheme and getting in his face. Hes either going to become Scottie Pippen and become thick-skinned and find a way or allow his mind to become mush in the face of adversity.

I would like to see us in the finals but lebroni likely will go and his team will get thumped.

You know how it likely go. This series goes to 7 games while the cavs sweep the lousy raptors and they get some nice rest before the eastern conference finals.

Likely but i still feel we can compete with them. That's assuming Hayward comes back as Hayward.

George has no heart, but there's not much wrong with his jump shot.

Paul George Stats | Basketball-Reference.com

There were 4 seasons before the injury, 3 after, and his three of his 4 highest 3-point FG% years are these past three, while shooting WAY MORE of them. Effective FG% is up too. Overall FG% is about the same, since he is taking more 3's after the injury.

I think that one can say that he attacks the basket a lot less, though, and is a little less D-oriented.

George said himself that he needed to fix his jumper.

Paul George says he’s having ‘mechanical issues’ with his jump shot
