mayfield would just have been a locker room issue.I'm kinda surprised that the Browns did this considering Watson's situation.. Rumors of 1yr+ for the suspension continue to swirl.

Mayfield gives them a QB for when Watson is suspended. Unless they intend on tankingmayfield would just have been a locker room issue.
Huh? One has nothing to do with the other. Baker was never going to take another snap for them.Watson must be getting a slap on the wrist.
This has been 100% predictable the minute that the CLE deal for Watson was approved by the NFL.
Read our Watson thread...
If that was the case, they would've just kept him. That way they wouldn't have had to pay him anything and they'd be better off than the deal they got today.Huh? One has nothing to do with the other. Baker was never going to take another snap for them.
It wasnt by his choice that he wasn’t going to play for them, it was the teams. If that was the case, they would've just kept him. That way they wouldn't have had to pay him anything and they'd be better off than the deal they got today.
The problem is that they know if he had to, he would have shown up. It would have been a huge distraction, but he wasn't going to just throw $19 million away to sit out.
Mayfield pulled a Harry/Dwayne Robertson and shot up the boards when it was rumored the Pats were going to trade up for him. I liked Darnold a lot when he played at USC and thought he was a top QB prospect. But like Matt Leinart, for some reason they can't adapt to the pros. I don't think many people saw Allen becoming what he is now - a top QB in the NFL. I didn't like Rosen at all at UCLA. I agree with Jackson, he's already started a slow progression downward, but will still get paid a ton of money because he puts azzes in the seats.2018 - 5 QBs drafted in the 1st round
1 Mayfield
2 Darnold
3 Allen
4 Rosen
5 Jackson
Jackson is on the ropes if you ask me. He cannot continue his reckless style of play without suffering the ugly consequences.
Allen will win a Super Bowl
I assume he wants a long-term contract.I don't get why Mayfield agreed to give up $3.5m.
My comment was obviously unclear. I meant from a Browns perspective he was gone as soon as the Watson trade was consummated, not that he was going to refuse to suit up for them.If that was the case, they would've just kept him. That way they wouldn't have had to pay him anything and they'd be better off than the deal they got today.

Not if Mac Jones has something to say about it!2018 - 5 QBs drafted in the 1st round

Because he wanted out of Cleveland and did his part in facilitating the trade to get what he wantedI don't get why Mayfield agreed to give up $3.5m.
There was no way baker was going to play for them... If he got hurt they'd be on the hook for a lot of money... And next year when Watsons contract really kicks in, it's untenable under the capI'm kinda surprised that the Browns did this considering Watson's situation.. Rumors of 1yr+ for the suspension continue to swirl.
If Watson is gone for the season, Mayfileds best move would have been to man up and play for Cleveland to increase his stock price.Huh? One has nothing to do with the other. Baker was never going to take another snap for them.
Yeah, RG3 already has the champagne ready.Allen will win a Super Bowl
Not if Mac Jones has something to say about it!
Fair statement. My comment was obviously unclear. I meant from a Browns perspective he was gone as soon as the Watson trade was consummated, not that he was going to refuse to suit up for them.
