Chandler Jones is going to destroy us big-time in this game.

It would not surprising me as typically in mid-Nov is when he starts to fade.

I keep hearing that they will be playing him off the line and dropping him into coverage quite a bit. He did that occasionally during games here but certainly not as much as it sounds like they will do in AZ with him

Chandler Jones has never destroyed a team in his entire career and now he is going against a team that knows his strengths and weaknesses the best

these first 4 games we're gonna see if the OL helps Brady, or Brady has always made our OL look much better than it actually is
08 already showed us that. Brady makes life a lot easier. 07 he was one of the least sacked QBs in the league and I think Cassel was the most sacked.

Haha you really believe that?

They run a 3-4 base and Jones will be standing up most of the time. In that position, based on the call and the offensive look he will rush the passer or drop into coverage. They will move him to DE in the 4-3 on nickel and dime configs.

To be clear, he will rush the passer a majority of the time out there but he will also drop into coverage more there than here b/c he will be the OLB in the 3-4.

I don't buy that. Von Miller and Ware are 3-4 OLBs in Denver's defense and they pretty much always rush.

Watching his limited snaps in pre season I'm not sure he dropped into coverage. Just rushed the passer? I'm sure that will change a little in the regular season, but I expect him to be rushing the passer mostly. He was almost always in a 2 point stance. I think he was in a 3 point stance once or twice.

I watched every snap he played this preseason and he didn't drop once.

I will be attending the game ,but as the game shapped up I fear a loss., Polo has next to no time with any of the Pats established receivers. Gronk, Edelmen, and Amendola haven't played much and are probably rusty and have had little or no practice time with Polo. Nor has Mitchell. Only Hogan, Bennet, and Derby have any real time with Polo.

The O-line hasn't played together at all. Solder, Thuney, Andrews, Cooper and Cannon might jell into a fairly good line in 4 -5 games, but they are strangers to each other right now.

Now add Polo's inexperience and crowd noise.

Greedy Brady has sabotaged preporations, very thoroughly.

Every now and then, Miller drops into coverage. See the AFCCG.

If you don't buy that Chandler will rush the passer a majority of the time and occasionally drop into coverage I don't know what to tell you.

Belichick always takes the best weapon away from a team on defense, so I would expect Gronk/Bennett/Develin to help out on jones - if he even requires a double team. I would be more worried about Calais Campbell, Frostee Rucker and Ndemiche. In the past, Brady could get the ball out quick if given enough time, Garoppollo was holding onto the ball just a tad bit too long in the preseason.

That's not what you said...and that's what Jones did here.

was that sarcasm?

Brady taking snaps in preseason games didn't keep Gronk, Edelmen, Amendola, Mitchell, Cooper, Mason, etc. from getting in sync with Jimmy. All of those guys being hurt for all of, or much of, the entire preseason kept them from getting in sync with either Tom or Jimmy.

No. That's why I said Jones did a little bit of coverage here and what he will do more of in AZ

Chandler Jones has the edge in this one without Solder or Vollmer, and he knows all the blocking schemes. CJ also knows what Garoppolo likes to do when the heat is on the pocket.

I'm ready for a dumpster fire by the Patriots offensive line. The Cardinals 3-4 is excellent, and they use their linebackers especially well to give the QB different looks. Garoppolo doesn't have the experience to read them, and the offensive line looks second rate to me.

I'm expecting the worst, and downgrading my prediction. The Pats are down six starters on offense - Solder, Vollmer, Lewis, Brady, Cooper and Gronkowski, Not a chance they win this one.

I'm glad in some ways that Brady starts out his season against that expansion team in Cleveland. Things can come together by then if Cooper Solder and Gronk are back on the line, and the Browns don't come close to the Cardinals' D.

They are undermanned for sure.

When did Cooper become the projected starter?
