Shelton is no big loss. He was eaten alive by a lot of teams on the ground and offered nothing in the pass game.

The Pats DL needs to be rebuilt. Other than 1-2 good years from Branch, they haven’t had an impact big body since Wilfork before his injury.

What about Mike Pennel, he just won a SB. Should we give him a try?

Thats the problem when you have a lot of really good players, pay to keep them and in parallel, don't hit on enough draft picks, have enough high picks to keep the short/long term salary costs down.

Plus Tom's $13.5m and ABs $4.5m are the 2 biggest dead cap hits.
