The lack of news on Boutte is starting to concern me a little. I am surprised.... did no one see what play he was hurt on? Did no one see him in the locker room? Did no one see him on the sideline? Anything?

He was seen on the sideline just hanging out in uniform after he was declared out. My guess is an abundance of caution.

Biggest concern is: Gonzo & Boutte.
I think Gonzo should be okay - didn't look like lower body
Boutte hammy is worrisome - even if it's just a 1 or 2 game loss. Our pass offense is barely surviving. Pop & Diggs won't overmatch anyone, and we need a versatile route runner like Boutte.

I think letting Bourne go for Williams & Chism may come back to bite us. Bourne was a solid consistent vet who knew how to get open and understand situations - Williams looks like he ran the wrong route on his ONE target.
Gonzalez is fine, said he would have been back in if there were another drive.

My impression of that play was he never quite got his balance back to whole time. I don't think theres anything medically wrong with him. Maybe he has a habit of running before he regains his balance, I've seen it happen before with other players.
he did this in the saints game too but got the td

Our pass offense is barely surviving? We have the most efficient pass offense in the NFL and a top 10 in volume.
Prior to today we were 29th in pass attempts 9th in pass yards 7 in passing TDS and 4th in Net YPA

Gonzo was out because the NFL put him through Concussion testing. He talked about it after the game. Someone already mentioned it.

How do you figure that the Pass offense is barely surviving even with Boutte in there?

Diggs is as versatile as Boutte when it comes to route running. So is Douglas, for that matter.

I loved Bourne. I wished the team handled things differently with him, but the reality is that his time with the team was done. It's not going to bite them at all.

You have no idea if Williams ran the wrong route. Furthermore, Williams was wide open in the EZ when Drake was scrambling to his left and Maye completely missed seeing him.

The Patriots are NOT a few years away. Why do people keep saying that??? We are 7-2. Not saying we will emphatically win the SB this year, but we can beat any team on any week if we play our best; including KC & PHI. We are literally a few PIECES away from SB contention. Pass rusher, safety, OG upgrade & maybe depth at CB. It’s not necessarily a need at the moment (barring Boutte’s status) but I wouldn’t mind an addition at WR. Some here make it seem like we won’t contend until like 2028-2030. No; this isn’t the same league as it was 10-15 years ago when there were heavy hitters at QB with stacked teams (ala BAL, PIT, SEA, DEN, GB, PHI, DAL, NYG etc). It’s wide open..let’s see what happens at the trade deadline & how the season progresses, but with our young stud at QB, Vrabel, JMD, Stretch in the booth & a wide open league competition-wise, I like our chances as much as anybody this year (barring significant injuries).

Btw, receivers were open. Maye missed them. Receivers weren't a big problem.
WR isn't a huge problem as long as 3 or our 4 WR are healthy.

He didn't, he was running some kind of crosser/Dig and Maye was throwing a vertical seam. I was a bad throw because even if HH ran the seam it looked like it would have been overthrown.
You can’t determine whether it was on target or Henry ran the route Maye expected.
The miscommunicated, it happens.

Wow! Did we know this?

I know some people wanna throw Pop off a cliff at any chance they can get, but all I've seen is someone who plays through adversity year after year and continually fights for his roster spot, never giving up. NE's most memorable receivers all go through the same ring of fire. I want him to stay.

Guy has a 100 yd game w/ a TD and some were calling for his head because he stumbled after the catch. Hilarious.

Sorry everyone. I didnt realize looking at the bigger picture of a whole season is bad. You’re right, they should go all out and go for broke to win every game every week, even if they die trying. Next week be damned!

Don't be silly, they can be all kinds of 'big picture' once I get my money. Priorities my man, priorities

Pop wasn’t on the same page as Drake last year, and even in preseason.

Look at him now.

I am not giving up on Kyle Williams at all.

While I disagree - I can't say you're wrong at all, nor anyone else that has this opinion.

QBs this year against Atlanta's pass defense:

Mayfield: 17-32 (53.1%), 167 yds, 5.2 y/a, 3 td, 0 int, 99.3 rating
McCarthy: 11-21 (53.4%), 158 yds, 7.5 y/a, 0 td, 2 int, 37.5 rating
Young: 16-24 (66.7%), 121 yds, 5.0 y/a, 0 td, 0 int, 78.6 rating
Mariota: 16-27 (59.3%), 156 yds, 5.8 y/a, 2 td, 1 int, 84.8 rating
Allen: 15-26 (57.7%), 180 yds, 6.9 y/a, 2 td, 2 int, 72.6 rating
Mac Jones: 17-26 (65.4%), 152 yds, 5.8 y/a, 0 td, 1 int, 64.9 rating
Tua: 20-26 (76.9%), 205 yds, 7.9 y/a, 4 td, 0 int, 138.6 rating
Maye: 19-29 (65.6%), 259 yds, 8.9 y/a, 2 td, 1 int, 102.5 rating

So really, given the caliber of pass defense they played against today (one of the very best in the NFL), Maye did just fine.

You know the Patriots have arrived when they’re accused of cheating.

They aren't being accused of cheating, they're being (falsely) accused of what would have been a smart move.
If they had done it... which they didn't

I'm really concerned about the second half offense. It was atrocious. Maye only had around 70 yards and there was no one open at all, really, until the last play to Henry. Very troublesome. I understand Atlanta is a good pass D, but what were they doing to Maye to make him look like rookie Maye? Were guys open and Maye wasn't seeing them? We'll never know because the ****ing broadcast team never showed an overhead view.

What I meant was our WR's. If we were to lose Boutte, we'd struggle.
My point is Williams & Chism are providing nothing, and it doesn't look like Williams will be able to offer anything this year.

So, we have 4 guys - and Boutte is a major piece of that puzzle. Diggs & Pop can't play as a 1-2 threat. Hollins blew up that one game because of the respect that Boutte has earned in coverage. So, I'm just saying we're flirting with a thin line in the WR corp and can't afford injury to any of those 4 guys.

If they did it, that would be a violation. It’s all on film.
