Curious thing about Pop. Twice now, when he's caught long balls he then proceeds to stumble all over the field. He stumbled three times after the catch on the 58 yarder today. There was a play similar to that earlier in the year. What's that about?
its like he couldnt believe he’s wide open and panic?

Are you seriously saying the team with the best record in the NFL shouldn’t do everything they can next week because you are afraid of a Todd freaking Bowles coached them that is 14th is scoring and 16 in scoring defense? You want to sit players out and game plan for the next game and throw this game? Are you insane?
Staying in first place matters in the standings.
Yeah, that was insane

I think you upgrade the team at any time. If they get an opportunity, then we should take it. This year you continue to be aggressive in that regard. The draft is not the only way to build a roster. It's the cheapest, but also potentially the most risky (all projection). For players already in the league, you have more of a track record. So if someone comes up who can improve your team, you take advantage. I'd love for us to go after someone like Thibodeaux and I'd give up an early pick for him. He'd fit in during the short term as well as the long term. Additionally there's lots of data to assess whether he'd fit in with our scheme. I think we need to pressure the quarterback more consistently to compete with the best teams and, if we do, I think we have a chance this year and I'd be inclined to take it.

He was the highest paid player on the team last year.

This year he's second, behind Milton Williams, and just ahead of Steph Diggs. He's nowhere near justifying that salary. Cap hit of 21+ million this year.
He isn't on the team next year. They save about 17 million on the CAP next year if they cut him even now. So yeah, he is gone and they will bring in a new RG in either FA or the draft.

Sorry everyone. I didnt realize looking at the bigger picture of a whole season is bad. You’re right, they should go all out and go for broke to win every game every week, even if they die trying. Next week be damned!

The PFF fanbois have gotten awfully quiet about him the last few weeks.

It looked like Henry never turned around for the ball.
He didn't, he was running some kind of crosser/Dig and Maye was throwing a vertical seam. It was a bad throw because even if HH ran the seam it looked like it would have been overthrown.

If they win out they're the 1 seed.

I understand exactly what you're saying, and don't disagree, but then again, I also get why people want to push their chips in.

7-2 changes things a lot.

We just passed for 259 yds on the #1 pass D in the league, 110 more yds than the avg 149 per game they give up.
What did Drake have, 175 in the first half?
We don't need another WR, we need Boutte to be healthy.
who says we have an easy schedule? last week was one of the best defense, this week best pass D, next week Tompa bay…

Maye had a bad game... for Maye. Brady at times had bad games... for Brady. It the context of an average NFL starting QB, it was okay.
A bad game compared to being the best performing QB in the NFL is not a bad game. He complete 66% of his passes for 9 yards per attempt and 2 TDs and won.

Nope you make a move now for the future. You don't burn any asset for the short term. IF they somehow could get Hall, I would want a contract to replace Rham.

Yes of course they should go all out to win every game. Did you think that wasn’t a given?
Do you think they will die if they play all of their players and game plan for the next game instead of bothering to win and spend extra time game planning for the worst team in the league?

Which of your suggestions was preserving life?

It's possible. Or they keep him around with a very strict dietary scheme.

He was referring to tanking against the Bucs because he doesn’t care to win that one.

I'm still here. This is my thought process.

That said, I'm not going to get mad anyone except for the Cult of Verticality for wanting to push their chips in.

Biggest concern is: Gonzo & Boutte.
I think Gonzo should be okay - didn't look like lower body
Boutte hammy is worrisome - even if it's just a 1 or 2 game loss. Our pass offense is barely surviving. Pop & Diggs won't overmatch anyone, and we need a versatile route runner like Boutte.

I think letting Bourne go for Williams & Chism may come back to bite us. Bourne was a solid consistent vet who knew how to get open and understand situations - Williams looks like he ran the wrong route on his ONE target.

Maybe.. Or Henry would have been in just the right place. It's hard to tell because of the change in direction.
