Absolutely. Jacobi would have been a 1050-yard receiver if he played all year. Has multiple metrics that put him on lists with many all pro WRs. Jacobi is arguably the best receiver on the team, and it will be hard to cover both TEs plus Meyers and also Bourne and Agholor going deep.

It’s all about staying healthy. If we could have all 5 of those guys for game 1, and they stay healthy most of the year, oh my.

Unfortunately Asiasi dropped a TD pass. Otherwise he blocked pretty well. Also Herron, 2 holding penalties, but remarkably, I saw him make a lot of solid blocks. Let’s not forget, our 2nd string Oline and 3rd string Oline was blasting open holes for our 3rd and 4th string RBs.

It’s been a while, but our backups always seemed to get crushed by other teams backups in preseason games in the past, which always made me worried that if we suffer injuries, our team is in trouble. Well the last 2 games, our backups are dominating other team’s backups. That is important. We are gonna lose 32 guys in the next 2 weeks, but at least everybody is playing pretty well in the preseason.

So what’s the thought on Winovich at this point?

Other than the bonehead roughing play he did look good tonight. But Bill clearly had him out there well after the starters for a reason. I would hate to deplete pass rushing depth, especially if Uche has any health issues.
