Official Pre- Game Thread- Bucs @ Pats

I always thought this was stupid anyway. They can honor him after the game.

What if Brady is in the middle of two minute drill with no huddle in an effort to keep the Pats' defense on their heels and stop them from substituting. Are they going to stop mid drive and give the Patriots an extra time out?

What if Brady gets the record by one yard and on the next play he passes the ball to a receiver behind the line of scrimmage and he is tackled for a two yard loss? Are they going to stop play when he breaks the record again?

It is a regular season game. So even if the Bucs lose, it won't take away from Brady's achievement. Have a ceremony after the game and honor him right.
He only needs like 68 yards. He probably gets it in the first quarter.

Sherman is playing.

That is only bright spot for Tampa in terms of their injured secondary. He picked up their defense fast apparently is good to go. I have to think they look spin the dial vs Mac and throw the kitchen sink at him in terms of pressure/coverage.

Guess he is serious about playing past 45. He really did pick the perfect spot to finish his career in Tampa. They appear to love him as much as he loves them.

A bit misleading headline from LaCanforra...obviously he would need a new contract if he decides to keep playing past 2022.

Brady has made it clear that he intends to play beyond this season, and team and league sources indicated that all parties are prepared to restructure and extend his deal again in 2022, should he not retire.

Just throwing out a hypothetical of how it could negatively affect the game.

But I am not sure if Brady will get 68 yards in the first quarter. Brady has a tendency to come out too hot in really big games until he settles in. Hence why he never scored a TD in the first quarter in any of his Super Bowls with the Pats. Even last year, he didn't score a TD until the final minute of the first quarter and went three and out in the first two drives while going 1 for 2 and a sack.

LOL. This isn't a SB and the Pats are FAR from a SB caliber opponent.

Isn’t La Confora one of the more gossipy reporters? A more legit Sharks of Vegas?

Word is Brady is treating it like the Super Bowl and the quality of the opponent doesn’t change whether Brady comes into a game too hyped up or not.

I think Brady will have a good game. I just think there is the potent of him coming in too hyped up and will need a few series to settle down and get into a rhythm.

I would expect Mac to go after him right away. From what I saw of him last year, he is good to give up a bunch of plays.
i wouldnt use 2020 Richard Sherman stats in a vacuum as an indicator. He actually played fairly well against everyone (Kirk, Amari Cooper, Robert Woods) except Diggs who roasted him. Sherman never should have been on Diggs as he runs a bit deeper routes and thats not Sherman's strengths anymore (nor ever). Also as someone noted to exploit Mac needs to throw deeper passes (15yd+) to exploit Sherman. We want Agholor to be covered by Sherman ideally

Other reason to go after Sherman is he's post injury but 2020 stats in a vacuum/one bad game vs diggs is not a good indicator

Not to mention all the ressources spent on O and the vet / all star cast.

Sharks of Vegas lol.

I think they’re out of business. Their twitter account hasn’t posted for 5 years and their website is now just some page in Chinese.

Glad people are welcoming the GOAT as i expected true fans to do.

My left nut is red, my right nut silver, my **** is blue. I’ve got it checked out, but the doctors all say the same thing. You’re what we call a “real” fan. Since I’ve been diagnosed, I can officially say you’re wrong. A competitor like Brady knows the score. To give him any less of the most hostile environment you can muster up, would mean giving Brady a half assed effort. I just can’t do that man.

Arians left AZ when he felt he didnt want to rebuild .Retired. Then suddenly resurfaced when he thought the TB job might be available. He really isnt invested in long term team building in Tampa. He will retire again and do tv when the team goes south or in cap hell.
"Wait... a coach can do that?"

In a way it's a blessing to have this "was it BB/was it Brady" moment, with all the children blithely babbling about firing all the coaches.

I don't think BB would ever say it -- in fact, I know he wouldn't, because in his mind, information is an asset with a value and you don't give it away -- but I think he is a builder. I think he knows how to think of each year as a year unto itself, but I also think part of the satisfaction for him is in molding teams, almost like a prep school teacher molding classes of students. He likes his special classes, like Robin Williams in Dead Poets Society... but I don't think that character stopped being a teacher after that one class graduated.

And the guys who "stick" in BB's system, when things are good, become his allies in the next "achievement" the next year... just so long as they understand it's a different year.

Even though he has a principle that each team is its own thing, and even though he has a principle that you tune out the noise, and the only "narrative" is winning that week or that year... He's human.

I think he wants to pick up from this question mark status with the bandwagon fans, the generation that he and Tom Brady spoiled, basically. I think he wants to show them it didn't begin and end with their no. 12 fetish (and like every real Patriots fan, I wish him luck... not because I'm rooting for him ahead of TFB, but because I'm rooting for New England not Tampa Bay or one guy on Tampa Bay.

So all this to say, it at least looks like we have a guy that likes coaching football, even the sucky rebuilding part of coaching, because it's coaching. But I'm knocking on wood as I say that, because who knows how far or how close he is to "I don't need this ****"
No Brees style ceremony for TB when he breaks the record tonight. I’m sure this is the way Tom would prefer it anyway.

Then stop the game and bring in a marching band.

I love how they say NE won't stop the game... I started thinking this through, and technically, how do those things work? I mean, nobody calls a timeout for that ceremony. There's nothing in the rules about them is there? If he just snaps the ball and keeps playing, that's that, right? Who wants a ceremony at a change of possession?

Eh just thinking out loud. Yay only 11 more hours til gametime

im glad Brady is back in town, after the pregame tribute video though, all gloves are off, I want nothing more to beat Brady in probably Bill's only opportunity to do so.

WTF is this ****? Is he retiring? Or is some pinnacle event occurring in this game that I don't know? Is that how Asante Samuel talk all the time?
