I don't know if you remember but; J Taylor gashed us for a little under 200yds Mac Jones Rookie year.
Oh I remember. Like I said, he is an incredible running back. But I've been watching the Colts' games, and it's just not true that he's been carrying the team. He plays a large role, but teams have managed to take him away for a few drives here and there and the Colts' offense has kept rolling.

In the first couple games it was true to a point, but over time, Jones has found a stronger form and is making plays at a high level himself. Their air attack is more than carrying its weight when it's had to, which is one of the reasons Taylor has so much room to run.

One thing you should look at if you're really determined to keep that skull of yours fastened shut, is how Jones has reacted to pressures this year. He's been even more efficient when hurried than he is when he isn't. He is really good at getting the ball out both quickly and accurately. The offensive line deserves some of the credit, but we've seen the same offensive line be helpless when Richardson was under center, so the quarterback still has to do his job.

As long as Daniel Jones keeps that ~70% completion rate going, the notion that Taylor is carrying the offense and the QB is a passenger is nonsense. You can't put up the kind of all world numbers that offense is generating unless EVERYTHING is working, and needless to say, that includes the QB.

Didn't Taylor have a season like this before? They lost at Buffalo? That year.? It's always going to come down the the QB.. for example Lamar folds in the postseason as does Herbert. Allen has been close and Mahomes is a winning QB.

Regular season success is awesome and is basically all about playoff position. For us to be in this situation is such a revelation that we are in the position we are.

For example does Tampa Bay look like a formidable opponent now? No Godwin or Evans? We play our game we can beat anyone.
I mean, he's scary. He had a pretty hot year last year. But one thing we're obviously handling is running backs. Granted that rep will get dinged against Taylor, but I think we hold him to 100 yards, no score.

He really is determined to find ways not to have to update his thinking.
LOL.. your right it's me... not you...

I've never heard so much about a former first round pick bust like Jones than I have recently. This is my opinion.. if he continues to win tip my hat to him.

Do you mean Taylor or MVP Jones? Some posters have me confused... its Jones the reason why they are winning Taylor is riding his coat tails? That has to be it right...

Yep. All the hallmarks of a guy who can't admit he lost the argument and so just gets passive aggressive instead.

You are nothing I haven't seen before and I'm growing bored with you.

He's the QB of a team that's winning.

It's eerily similar to Minnesota last year, with Darnold (except Darnold was always a better prospect than Jones, not really close).

Ok... give him the MVP then..
As many of us forget, the MVP is awarded after many, many more games.

I'd have him as #2 in the MVP race at this point.

That story aged well. August 7. Even before preseason. Waste of a post.

Key quote from that early August article: "If the 2025 season continues to provide mediocre production, it could lead the Indy brass to blow the entire operation up,"

How many are arguing today the the 2025 season looks to be providing mediocre production?

I got this really interesting feed on my MSN browser today. It put out the supposition that using that top pick to find your QB of the future to turn your team's fortunes around, almost NEVER works out for the team who did the drafting. And then they started to go down the list of QB's. Although some have turned out to be great QB's (like Goff, Darnald, and Stafford) it's never for the team that drafted them and then they went to name a number of guys who have flourished for other teams.

Interestingly they even include CWilliams, JDaniels, Nix, and Pennix, saying the they are not sure things and point out stats and ratings for all of them that are pretty mediocre even though their teams are currently above .500. Like barely 60% passing completion rates for them all and rating in the 20's for passing efficiency.

There is one exception of course and he is never mentioned in the article because he is clearly the exception that proves the rule. Drake Make. HE is the reason along with guys like Manning, Luck, Elway that teams waste all those high picks hoping that it brings them a guy that turns their fortunes around. I didn't realize just how rarely it actually turns to work out.

BTW TJ Stroud LOOKED to be one too, (he has TWO playoff wins to his credit) but this year he's looked very ordinary this year and last night he looked just bad. It should be a cautionary tale for us. Your QB is only going to be as good and the people you put around him, both players and coaches. And the seeming greatness we are seeing NOW has no guarantees for the future. The Texans screwed around with their OL and Stroud is paying the price and it looked ugly last night.
