Andrews was bad today, beaten on numerous occasions including the play where Mac was injured.

It's easy, and only takes a few moments.Maybe, but part of me could see them feeling like Jimmy is a "known quantity" and the fact that he probably won't command an absolute top-of-market contract will let them be closer to winning now.If Mac is hurt for the most or rest of the season, I would think they would give him another year. Probably too early to make a decision after 20 games. And use that cap space to put some talent around him.
BB has zero interest in a high pick because he does not want to pay him
If BB gets a top 5 pick it will be traded for a 4th and 6th round pick in 2027.
He’s not the answer, unfortunately if the Pats wind up having one of the worst records, they need to draft another QB in the 1st round. They need their franchise QB, not sure if Mac is the answer, he certainly has regressed. And Jimmy G is would just be a stop gap.So what are the chances Bill uses his cap space to sign Garoppolo next year?
I’ll go a step further. He never has the chance to be the GOAT without that early development structure. Mac gets this “scheisse.”Bill didn’t have his son on one side of the ball and Matt Patricia on the other side. He also was building a very fundamentally sound team with good talent.
The last few years have been the least talented of the Belichick era and the coaching situation is a mess.
Brady got a solid cast of veterans and young explosive players and Charlie Weiss was running the offense and Romeo Crennel was in charge of defense. That’s a pretty ideal way to develop a young guy.
I honestly think Patricia had an embarrassment of riches on defense when he took over and everyone immediately after him was an improvementYou have to wonder how much these coaches overachieved with the Pats when they all fall flat on their face when they leave.
To reiterate the pats played a practice squad WR over their most dynamic WR. 53 snaps 0 yards for Humphrey.
And he already knows the playbo (oh, never mind)…..Cam is free....
I know we were spoiled with the almost every year Super Bowl runs… Now it may be like the Dooshfins … 40+ years without a Super BowlThere is much to be concerned about. I don’t think anyone was expecting a 14-3 SB run, but the regression that we’ve seen since preseason (since being 9-4 last year ?) is cause for concern.
I’ve been a fan of Mac since NE drafted him. Last year, he showed fight and never-say-due attitude. The 4th down today that lead to a Jonnu first down was the type of thing I liked last year.
But. An injury preceded by an obvious regression : cause for concern and frustration. I don’t need a yearly SB. Last winter, I was truly feeling good about Mac and year two. Now ? Feel like all bets are off. Great plays followed by bonehead plays. By Mac, by the WRs, on D….
He’s been in the NFL 23 years and has always had a terrific structure. Oh, and he’s the GOAT.That dude could get it done with the local McDonalds staff with a week to practice.
Awful awful play calling in key situations. Mac really missed Meyers.
Agreed. I initially loved Mac, he has heart and works hard, I just don't think those bad INT's are something you fix easily. The coaching changes have nothing to do with him throwing a ball directly to the other team repeatedly. He’s not the answer, unfortunately if the Pats wind up having one of the worst records, they need to draft another QB in the 1st round. They need their franchise QB, not sure if Mac is the answer, he certainly has regressed. And Jimmy G is would just be a stop gap.
Yeah, he’s done for a while.
