Game Day Thread Official Post Game Thread- Pats beat the Jets

THIS IS OUR LIVE GAME DAY THREAD:

This is where we gather to follow things on Game Day. Obviously, emotions tend to be high so if anyone gets a little crazy, the use of the “Mute” button is encouraged on anyone who may be annoying to you to control your experience and to allow the moderators to also enjoy the game.

At the same time, please take a deep breath before over-reacting for the sake of making this a pleasant experience for everyone.

I just want to point out that the Patriots actually dominated this game. Their offense was better. Their defense was better. And their special teams (thanks to the punt return TD) were better.

They had 2x the number of first downs. Nearly 3x the number of yards gained. More than 2x the number of yards gained per play. They actually moved the ball quite a bit against the Jets today, but yeah, big time struggle once they got into position to score. So that's a huge, huge problem that they need to figure out.

But the TV announcers were acting like somehow this was a game the Jets deserved to win but didn't. No they didn't. They didn't do jack today. The Patriots dominated them up and down the field all game long.
Absolutely

The Pats have allowed the least number of ppg in the league after 10 games...... Dallas has allowed 1 more ppg and they are still playing..... On pace to be the 5th best defense in the BB era in terms of points allowed.....
EDIT- second in ppg, Cowboys allowed 1 less point but it doesnt account for pick 6s and others so the PAts may still have allowed less on defense.

An ugly win is better than a pretty loss any day. Reading some of these comments , one would think we lost. Yes we have a lot of things to work on but we are still 6-4 and I will take that all day over below .500. People should be more positive in this thread and be happy we won no matter how it happened !!!
It just depends on the lens you have

I'm looking long term, and looking at what I've seen in the past. This team doesn't look better than 8-9 to me.

No... I am not going to be alright. The dynasty years showed improvement throughout the season. This offense is going backwards. They scored three points! The countless mental errors... Only ten guys on the field. Illegal formation. Be happy beating the jets but we saw this last year when the pats rolled into buffalo and passed once or twice then they got steamrolled by buffalo. If you can't score points you are not going to win many game. Mac Jones is essentially rex Grossman and we have the bears defense. Are you happy with the growth you've seen from the offense?
The Jets D just did the same thing to the Bills and Allen, that's a top defense. Our offense is not going backward. The 10 men was a special teams gaffe. We're winning while not scoring a lot of points. We need to get reasonably healthy.

3 points on offense. Step off with this crap.

The offense scored 3 points. We punted 7 times. Mac has to throw it away instead of taking another sack. We would have had one or more TD's if he threw the ball away 4 or more times.
He can't throw it away if he's trapped inside the pocket, or it's intentional grounding. With most of the sacks the Jets had guys barreling in from both sides.

When they were down on the 20 or better, BB should have played just for FG's, no drop backs.

We're not seeing the same thing. They just scored 3 pts coming off a bye week. What about the last jets game? 5 fgs and one TD.

It took some time in the memory banks but I thought it was a given that you don't kick to a punt returner with seconds left in the game. Giants kicked to Eagles Desean Jackson back in 2010 with less time on the clock than today and he too returned it for a game winning TD.

If the Jets won today, they would have passed Buffalo and Miami in the division and would be #1 in the AFC East, and the 3rd or 4th seed.

Instead, they lost and fall to the bottom of the AFC East. With a Bengals win today (which should be clinched shortly), the Jets will fall to the 8th seed, out of the postseason picture.

Entitlement is a stealthy disease. It creeps up on even the vigilant with reckless abandon.

This isn't the past...it is the now, and nothing lasts forever.
Competency should be a given. You don't put a diesel mechanic as your chief mechanic in a formula one race. Expecting a legit offensive coordinator isca reasonable expectation. What other team has appointed a defensive coordinator as their offensive coordinator

It should have been 4 FG's today if they'd been satisfied with just making FG's. Instead they had Mac taking deep drops from the 20, taking sacks that put us out of range. Tactical error on Belichick's part in this weather against that opponent with half our OL in the locker room.
