You're conveniently excluding the end of last season, when he was being "managed." He hasn't gotten any better.

As far as Zappe is concerned, he can read the entire field. He sees it. The NFL game is not too fast for him. Bill said this!!! I trust Bill more than your opinion on this matter.

And Bill said that about Mac Jones at this point last year.

And again Jones was a rookie. Most rookies hit a rookie wall. And then they started this season with a new offense that doesn’t play to Jones’ strengths.

10 wins. Playoffs

In the OROY conversation. Dan Orlasky says Mac is Elite.

Your boy Zap cant hang with Mac.
Way to not refute my point. Keep tapdancing around that indefensible "Zappe offense" bit.

To your previous post: you can't be serious. Again, let me get this straight. Because Mac Jones led the team to a whopping wild card berth and got blown out 43-17 in Buffalo...in the playoffs... with weather making the matchup in Buffalo an equal playing ground...and because some tv analyst that couldn't hang in the NFL says Mac Jones is Elite: "Zap can't hang with Mac"?

You know who else got into serious OROY conversations?? RG3. You know what else he has in common with Mac Jones? Losing their postseason opener.

What am I exactly supposed to be loyal to here? What I believe is at the moment the team's best option to keep winning or "Elite Mac Jones" with his whopping $3.5 mil contract that the team has riding on him? Give me a break.

You gotta go with the hot hand if Zappe can continue things along well and wins out in practice.

I found this story from Breer a bit odd. Never felt like there was any tension from Mac. Adds a layer to the QB situation.

I think that this could be another big storyline here if true….that Mac has gotten a bit whiny and *****y about McD leaving and the changes in O….a lot of which I agree with in terms of coaching personnel this year….but you have to adjust and adapt and I don’t think Mac has done that well and Zappe has adjusted EXTREMELY WELL…..Zappe has gotten TE involved again and how many different receivers today…..Zappe has been electrifying

The team as a whole is getting better. Zappe benefits from that. That said I think you have to be pretty special to go in there and play like you've been there all along
I think Zappe has United them in a way….everyone is on point and invested now imho….look at Run D today (which was shaky first few games) and today shut down one of best RB in league in Chubb and his close partner K Hunt…..pretty amazing

Haven’t really seen a true deep ball from him yet that I can think of.

He had a 53 yard pass today, but that was a catch and run by Smith. His next longest pass so far this season was a 31 yarder to Hunter Henry which was another catch and run. Those are his only two passes over 25 yards thus far.

Yeah I can’t think of anything that’s traveled farther than 20 or so yards in the air.

Well, Zappe had nothing to adjust from. This was his first NFL offense. He has no knowledge of Josh’s offense.

At this point last year, Jones started with 7 TD / 6 INT and 2-4 record. Not even close dude. You just continue to be wrong, wrong, wrong.

Yeah, both the Smith and Henry catches today were in the 15 yard range. The freakish Parker catch was slightly over 20 yards.

Wow, these excuses are getting absurd. The guys that invested in Mac jerseys and gear are really showing their true colors. Team comes first, then your binkie.

At this point I have to agree. The first appearance: "ok, you held serve for us" The second apperance: "you managed it very well". Today's appearance: "you led us. We're all in whenever you're out there".

They’ve gotta push that if they keep Zappe in, defenses will stop respecting anything deeper than 20.

Jones faced stronger competition and better defenses. What was Jones’ stats and record during the soft part of the schedule? Zappe has faced the Packers, Lions, and Browns defenses. The Lions and Browns defenses are two of the worst in the league. The Packers’ defense isn’t worlds better.

Jones faced some good defenses in the Bucs, Saints, and Cowboys.

"EEETTS THA SURRRCOHHHOHLLL... the Circle of fa Life... "

(Wait - now I just remembered someone's avatar was Mac as Simba).

I don’t know how this’ll all play out.

Mac is a first rounder who had a VG rookie year and is on a 4 year contract that makes sense for the team. There is much to be seen before fans start speculating about trades.

There is no denying : Zappe vs Mac THIS year so far looks good for the rookie. But I’d be interested in BB’s analysis of WHY it’s been better lately. It might be Zappe. But it also might be « the supporting crew »…
I think it’s better lately because Zappe is making the better decisions and making plays that Mac can’t ….and it is building the teams confidence and even coaches feel better in making calls for O…..Brady made EVERYONE BETTER and more confident….not even remotely saying that Zappe is like Brady except that team feels more confident in his abilities right now it seems

Yeah, but I don’t think they have to worry until they meet the Jets. I don’t think the Bears have the defense to stop the Pats even if they don’t respect the deep pass and Zappe doesn’t try deep passes.
