Whatever may be said about the game vs. Detroit, Zappe threw a lot of balls today to players who weren’t his first read. And recognized busted coverage. And stepped up in the pocket without being jittery. He’s making a very strong case for himself.
Just want to point out that our defense did this without Barmore, Guy, Jon Jones, and I may be forgetting others?
I'm far from giving up on Mac, but IMO it may be tough to not stick with Zappe if he continues playing like this. He was outstanding today.... poised and showing more as a thrower too now. Pretty sure he's had 100+ rating in all 3 games , despite Agholor screwing him over and adding a pick to his stats. Will be interesting to see how this all plays out, but it's a good problem to have IMO if there ends up being a qb controversy.
Love what I saw on both sides of the ball, minus Myles Bryant somehow sneaking onto the field and giving up a touchdown. If we find a way to get him and Wynn on the bench I'll be a happy guy.

the difference between last year’s defense & this unit is they can play man with Jones, Mills & Jones. The pass rush is also improved with Wise providing something across Judon. The D is here to stay IMO.
with Guy out and Barmore injured in the 2nd quarter, our D line is pretty thin going forward. Barmore's knee could be a major problem going forward. Going to be an interesting week seeing how BB adjusts.
