I’m glad, win or loss, that it’s out of our system.

we almost beat a loaded (yes they are loaded and played under their potential despite the sb) team today and Mac looked like Brady minus the entitled yelling at coaches and receivers, the diva stuff, etc. I’m on board 90% now.

Brady looks and talks fake as hell during these interviews man. All that “it’s about the team” stuff with Michelle. I saw through that. Yea he’s Brady but that stuff is fake.

we need to go ahead and figure out what ht, dmac, and slater wanna do cause we have something to build onto but we need to do it quickly as bills an old man looking at the end of his career.

Frustrating that we couldn’t take advantage of their battered secondary. Still no down field passing game.

Honestly it’s unfathomable how piss poor our run game is. Your telling me that Stevenson’s power run game couldn’t have been a little more useful to keeping them on their heels? At least pushing the pile forward for a yard would have been an improvement. Now Taylor is in the dog house so you gonna scratch them both next week Bill?

The pass rush is what gets Brady flustered and we offered nothing except for Judon.

A lot of concern with the vets on the defense. Van Noy is a corpse out there and Hightower is on his death bed and McCourty is anonymous.

1-3 is a bad hole to be in and don’t see how we climb out of it. When does Kraft lose his patience? I don’t think he was a 100% onboard with the prospect of giving out that much guaranteed money because over the years it’s been demonstrated you can win Super Bowls by not overpaying in free agency….

It's a no brainer. Mac is awesome. It's fun to go back and read fake draft expert construction guys try to diss Mac's arm or some other BS crappy take they parroted from twitter before the spring.

.
Well, he doesn't run the 40 in 4.4 seconds.

Another game they could have won. The field goal try is questionable IMO. A loss is a loss, go for it with Mac Jones and see what happens.

It was an absolute shame that Brady wasn't touched at all. He didn't limp off at the end or have a season ending.

Off to Houston. Buffalo best them 40 to nothing. This is a Patriots must win. The offensive line must play well and protect Jones. No more dropped passes. Defense must stop the run. When will the Patriots run game show up?

Didnt we start 1-3 in 2001?
Yes, and that was with one fewer regular season game.

1-3 looks bad, especially after a tough loss, but it’s not that big of a deal. If they were 1-3 with losses to Miami AND Buffalo, then I’d be more concerned.

1-3 sucks because it gives you less wiggle room for a dud later in the season, but it’s far from a season ender. They need to refocus quickly, avoid an emotional letdown against Houston, and get some traction. Hard to feel good after a loss when the team should be 2-2, but the fact is that their season is far from over and there is a lot of reason for optimism.

Buffalo is 3-1, which means if the Pats can beat Buffalo twice (notwithstanding other games, of course), they’d be leading the division. A lot of football to be played … I loved everything about tonight other than the loss, the officiating (as it affected both teams), and the hole in my wall that I’ll have to patch.

I’d like to think that whatever it was that got between Brady and Bill+ Brady and the Patriots was patched tonight and they’re on really good terms again. I think Brady appreciated what the team did for him tonight to recognize him.

Maybe Brady really will retire a Patriot. I’d really hate to see him consider himself a TB Buccaneer first after retirement like Manning considers himself a Denver Bronco not a Colt.

I guess I wasn't expecting us to make the playoffs, so the 1-3 start is not especially disappointing to me. I was hoping that Mac would prove to be a legitimate successor to TB and that the Pats would show improvement through the season, finishing with maybe a 9-8 record. So far, everything points to Mac being the right choice. We'll have to wait to see if the Pats steadily get better.

Man we became a fan board of "what ifs" how we have fallen...a lot of you here would be fuming over this loss instead it's "if so and so happened we would be 2-2" GTFO here we are 1-3 same record as the Jets

Weird I have never heard a teammate say anything about Brady. They all love him even the coaches. He is a team first sort of guy

I'm a bit concerned at the schedule going forward.

I hope this season doesn't get away from us

I felt both parties were extremely classy and grateful this week. I’m proud of both of them and agree it seems some fences were mended.

I wish it could’ve come with a win, but this week was handled well and I’m glad it’s over now.

It’d be a lot easier to feel good about the team turning this season around at 2-2 after beating the defending champs, but a loss can have the same outcome and give a team confidence and build character (KC in 2014, STL in 2001). Belichick needs to get them mentally right early this week.

Wish we could have one of those back but a win next week and we’ll be feeling good.

Can people not feel more than one thing at once?

If you want to be bitter and mad about 1-3, completely ignore anything positive, and assume there is nothing in the future to be positive about, go ahead … I tend to think others like to feel happy sometimes, even after lousy things happen.

Bro we are 1-3 when majority of us saw us being a playoff team. I did mention something positive in my original post about our secondary being very good tonight. Obviously things can change and still plenty to go, but 1-3 is a bad way to be in the first quarter of the season. We have the same record as the Jets there's no 'ifs' in football.

Did the other players/team not also have to deal with the rain? The missed holds on Tampa’s OL?

Both teams had to deal with those variables.
Yes those were definitely the only missed calls. For sure

but only one team won

Before the season started most folks wanted to start Cam through this game because they were terrified that this game would be too much for Mac. It wasn't.
