As I wrote earlier in this thread, the celebrations in Buffalo are wild, and people got on me for mentioning that after last weekend's game, but now the Bills org is frontloading this to Irsay Colts proportions:
His arm's not average. It's obviously a below average NFL arm. He'll work at it and, hopefully, it'll improve. But there's no sense overselling the arm. That won't lead to a single extra completion.Chad Pennington already had a weak arm, but was still a very effective QB. It wasn't until he had his shoulder injury(ies?) where it really fell off to a below average level
Manning's arm was the result of nerve damage, and it was obvious he had no velocity whatsoever anymore, but he was still able to win a Superbowl throwing like a 10 year old
Mac may not have a strong arm, but he doesn't have a WEAK arm like Manning or Pennington did post injury. It's just an average NFL arm, but its still an NFL arm.
Its the engines Capn they canna take anymore
They would need to use him regularly and there will be growing pains. I seem to remember frustration with Edelman for a couple seasons and even wanted them to cut him. was it injuries or drops? I cant remember. Then he bloomed into a star. gunner would not be an immediate fix either i dont think. The answer to my question either answers or informs yours, depending upon how you like to work percentages.

So, if you're hoping Gunner's going to be the next thing as the NEP SlotWR, you're hoping for something more like Troy Brown:

So the answer to your question is found in the answer to the question "What do you think the odds are of Gunner turning into another Troy Brown?". Which leads us back to
"This is year 3 of his tenure. What signs has he shown?"
Hold on. Are we seeing the same play? In real time speed looks like he's going for the ball. Did you miss the part where he offers his hand to Josh Allen and helps him get up ???
lol, and Judon helps him up afterwards
GreenCow is being a little b**** haha, doesnt want his QB to get a booboo but doesnt mind Bills defenders committing 3 separate personal fouls against our rookie QB
Kindly go f*** off, GreenCow
Judon is dirty. He was a Raven. There really isn't more to say.
Is Jonu Smith the most disappointing FA signing since Ocho?
Im sure he is going for the ball.
I said that from the beginning.
But you are not allowed to "go for the ball", once the play is over.
If the play is over and Mac Jones is walking to the ref to hand him the ball for the next play, is it OK if a defender punches at the ball in Mac's hands?
Of course not. The play is over.
I'm trying to figure out if you're rationale or not. Did you also see Judon immediately offer his hand to Josh Allen, and a totally not pissed off Allen take Judon's hand to get his body up off the field ??
.
I guess I dont understand what that has to do with anything? If someone kicks me in the testicular region but then offers me a hand, everything is OK?
Because a normal person, if it was deliberate and with malicious intent, wouldn't immediately offer their hand to help the guy back up. Would not offer either due to ill intent or feeling guilty. So.... Judon likely did not mean to put in a late jab at the ball, with malice, given that he without thinking immediately also offers to help Josh Allen back up.....
I certainly wont try to guess intent.
He said he had to work on his leg strength to improve his arm strength. I'm sure they'll have Mac do the same thing this offseason.Jones also doesn't have a lot of experience throwing in the elements. I think even a rookie QB with a really strong arm would still have take time adjusting to throwing in the elements if he spent his high school years in Florida and college years in the SEC. Really strong wind in places like Foxboro and Buffalo affects all passes by all QBs. Every QB has to adjust to it. QBs with stronger arms can adjust easier than ones with weaker ones, but it isn't like a Josh Allen is immune to wind because he has a strong arm.
But yes, people are making way too much of Jones' arm strength. He will enter his first year of true NFL conditioning this offseason. He will work on his strength and work with throwing coaches to improve his throws. I can almost guarantee you if he is dedicated to the offseason programing, his arm strength and velocity on the ball will improve markedly over the offseason and should continue to do so for the next few years at least.
That is what we saw with Brady in his early years. He didn't have the greatest arm strength when he came into the league and dedicated himself over the years to get one of the better arm strengths in the league.
macs arm is good enough when all is going well but i think he needs a really clean pocket as he seems to really struggle getting any accuracy and velocity when throwing off balanceWhen a rookie throws for 70% completion and is making over 7.5 yards per attempt, who cares that Mac doesn't have Field's arm ??? Mac can make all the throws when Wynn or the OLine aren't getting torched. One thing is to let him audible more to handle blitzes, whether it's to go quick to a WR or to bring in a RB or TE to block
