Yep, while he is way too sped up, I can't really fault him for it with how this year has gone. The Wynn extension was absolutely a head scratcher. I didn't take huge issue with the Mason trade at the time, but it looks like a mistake in retrospect. Certainly reducing Bourne's role after he was arguably their most dynamic player last year is confounding.
I am wondering if perhaps Bill specifically wanted O'Brien as his next OC, but O'Brien could not come until 2023 so Bill needed a stopgap. He felt Patricia, Judge and himself could manage things for a season and then they could bring in O'Brien to build things up further the year after. Obviously it didn't go well and he underestimated the complexity of the job and the capabilities of Patricia and Judge, but he wasn't going to go bring in someone else when he already has plans in place for an OC in '23, so he rode it out.
I think he will definitely approach things with a more careful mindset this offseason in all regards. Another season that looks like this will probably not be acceptable to Kraft. I feel that Groh and team did a good job last year so hopefully they can continue that trend.
