At least this will quiet the Zappe crowd.
BB should not have yanked Mac that quick. Now you're at risk of losing the team's trust.
The 2nd half plan was not a plan, just a surrender. Everytime we bring back Collins it's useless, and our D gets worse.
We lost Dugger, Phillips & Andrews. This is bad.
We could easily lose to the Jets next week, then it's rock bottom.
I think you hit the nail on the head. Now how do you rally the troops after such a. Deflating loss. The QB is the captain of the ship and both zappe and Mac will feel terrible. Mac because he played terribly bad and zappe for seeing how Mac was treated by the crowd by chanting zappe and Mac still coming to congratulate him on the first TD. Understand they are professionals , but deep within we are all human . Meyers statement reflected that . How do you step on somebody's jobs make them redundant and then you goof it as well . If we look at the emotional or psychological aspect, it's pretty bad for both QBs.
If the team feels game planning was a problem then the coaching staff lose credibility and player buy- in takes a toss.
You need a real strong leader to motivate the troops . Earlier we had Brady , now nobody of that stature . Maybe Judon to a certain extent .
Next game decides our season. If we lose to jets it's tankathon and possibly a top 10 pick.
Yeah, but we love the pro Zappe crowd already. Hopefully they will get a vaccine for Zappe fever at some poin.
And yes, I know what you are talking about.
But exploiting a 5'11" (what most people thinks Zappe's real height is) pocket passing QB by taking away his passing lanes isn't exactly rocket science.
I can only speak for myself. I haven't been defending Mac today or last night.
Second of all, Zappe is a fourth round pick who had one really good game and two good drives last night a long with two games where he was just asked to not screw things up. And yet the Pro-Zappe crowd have spent the last week plus saying this is Brady/Bledsoe all over again.
Zappe showed last night why he went in the fourth round. He is a small QB with limitations in his game.
Really? I think the jury is still out on Zappe . But it has definitely come in on Moon ball Mac. One positive in starting moon ball is we are guaranteed a Top 10 pick. Your head have to be in the sand if you think otherwise.
You guys think he is a franchise QB based on one game. Which is complete and utter nonsense. You are literally accusing me of stuff the pro Zappe crowd is doing.

And I think the jury is still out on Mac and I am not convinced that Zappe will ever be a legitimate starting QB.
I think Patricia needs to do what McDaniels would have done this season and go back to the basics and then mix in the down the field passing. Unfortunately, now we are near the midway point of the season where they have to do it. Patricia really screwed up Jones. A lot of that is on Jones, but I still think if he can get out of his funk, he is the better QB. If not, he is trash.

Again a QB that has played 22 games with 8 bad games in his last 9 and the jury is still out but a rookie that played 4 games with one bad half and it’s set in stone that the guy can never get better.
He played really well in the second half against the Colts and almost brought the Patriots back. Then the defense gave up a huge TD run. And the first Bills game neither team threw for much of the game because of the conditions. And he played fairly well against the Bills in the playoffs. The defense was just abismal.
And most of the games late in the season last year , the defense forced Jones to huck the ball down the field and get out of his game.
But I am not saying Mac is the answer. I am just saying Zappe isn't the answer.
Some claim Zappe has limitations in his game and argue he’s therefore unplayable (or not worth playing).
I guess what I’m struggling with there, is the implication that Jones doesn’t have limitations that are (currently) making him unplayable.
IMO both clearly have a lot to work on, but I’d much rather go with the guy who has demonstrated consistently good pocket awareness, poise, field vision, timing/rhythm, and tight-window-throw ability - but lacks stature and will need to adapt to batted passes - than the guy whose current limitation is his ability to consistently operate with poise in the pocket while simultaneously keeping his eyes downfield.
When Jones gets a clean pocket and can throw in rhythm, he has the ability to be an elite pure passer of the football. Reminds me a lot of Peyton, actually, in many ways, when he’s at his best.
But being an elite passer of the football, alone, is not sufficient for being an elite quarterback.
Zappe, to my eye, has been the better quarterback.
