OFFICIAL PatsFans.com 2009 Draft Prediction Contest thread

Connor Barwin OLB Cincinnati
Clint Sintim OLB Virginia
Jamon Meredith OT South Carolina
Shawn Nelson TE So. Miss
Chip Vaughn SS Wake Forest
Asher Allen CB Georgia
Mike Mickens CB Cincinnati
Mike Wallace WR Mississippi
Lydon Murtha OT Nebraska
Tom Brandstater QB Fresno St.
Khalif Mitchell DE East Carolina

Based on day one the only players left that I took which are still in play would be Nelson, Wallace, Brandstater and Mitchell. The other available players don't make a ton of sense based on the earlier picks.

I don't ever recall getting a single pick right, with the possible exception of Mayo once the rumours started on the Friday before the draft. Here goes:
Patrick Chung, S, Oregon

WOO HOO! For the first time ever, well since Drew Bledsoe the no-brainer, I guessed one correctly. See, even a broken clock is right twice a day. :singing:

ILB Rey Maualuga, USC
ILB James Laurinaitis, Ohio State
OLB C***** B*****, Cincinnati
OLB Paul Kruger, Utah
OLB Lawrence Sidbury, Richmond
OL Eric Wood, Louisville
OL T.J. Lang, Eastern Michigan
SS Patrick Chung, Oregon
SS Chip Vaughn, Wake Forest
CB Darius Butler, UConn
CB Kevin Barnes, Maryland

Two lucky guesses out of eleven

I have not ever picked one prostpect who could do six degrees of Kevin Bacon to a player we actually drafted but, oh well, here goes nothin'

Brandon Pettigrew TE Oklahoma State
Conner Barwin OLB/TE Cincinnati
William Beatty OT UCONN
Darius Butler CB UCONN
Louis Delmas S Western Michigan
Jarren Gilbert DE San Jose St.
Jasper Brinkley ILB South Carolina
Tyrone McKenzie LB South Florida
Frantz Joseph ILB Florida Atlantic
Ian Johnson RB Boise State
Kevin Huber P Cincinnati

Oh boy!! 2 woot!!

I got two guys right. Butler and Patrick Chung. At least I got the early ones right. Oh and I guessed Patrick Chung at the exact spot he was picked - 34!

Whoever had Vollmer, Bussey or Ohrnberger I think would take the cake

another year, another 0-for......

C Alex Mack California
OT Jamon Meredith South Carolina
OT Gerald Cadogan Penn State
S Patrick Chung Oregon
CB Kevin Barnes Maryland
LB James Laurinaitis Ohio State
LB Antonio Appelby Virginia
LB Aaron Curry Wake Forest
LB Conner Barwin Cinncinati
DT Evander Hood Missouri
DT Dorell Scott Clemson

I think we have our winner?

Appleby doesn't count as an UDFA. I think anyone who had 3 picks is the winner or it may be a tie.

He only got one of the draft picks right and then one UDFA. This is the DRAFT prediction game, not the Undrafted prediction game. Maybe there should be a separate game for UDFA's next year.
Besides there are plenty of people who got 2 of the drafted picks right. If there were people who got 2 right plus 1 UDFA that might be a tiebreaker, but I don't think anyone got 3 right, did they?

Unless I overlooked something, here are the people who got two correct

Darius Butler CB UCONN
Tyrone McKenzie LB South Florida

23 Darius Butler CB
34 Patrick Chung SS

Patrick Chung
Darius Butler

#34 Ron Brace DT Boston College
#47 Patrick Chung SS Oregon

SS Patrick Chung, Oregon
CB Darius Butler, UConn

Darius Butler, UConn
Ron Brace, Boston College

Per the rules the tiebreaker was whatever correct pick was drafted the latest, and that was Tyrone McKenzie at 3.97.

Therefore, Irish Hooligan is the winner of the Official 2009 Draft Prediction Contest - congratulations!

There is no way that I won.
UDFA's dont count... unless .... unless they make the team???

So I can win pending Final Roster cutdowns???.... otherwise its the half dozen of you with both Chung and Butler. 2 real picks wins... and half a dozen of you got that...

Oh my bad... you already picked a winner while I responded

Wooooooo! I have never seen a weirder draft front to back in my life but if I was ever going to win this, this crazy draft fits! I am very happy, probably more than is necessary.:woohoo:

Congrats, if memory serves me the past 3 years the winner has had 2 picks correct. I wonder what the average ratio of hours spent analyzing the draft to predicted Patriots draft picks equals.

ratio = hours spent analyzing the draft / predicted Patriots draft picks

I will go first, 5 hours per week * 10 weeks = 50 Hours / 1 pick
50, yep, just as I expected, I am a loser.

ha, maybe you should take that time and try to get a job in the Patriots war room. You would win every year.
