LOOVVVVE D-Mac & truly appreciate his value to the NE Defense. I’m actually one of the guys who defends him on this forum. However, due to factors such as his age & contract, I’m beginning to wonder if BB would actually trade him for a 2nd/3rd round pick (ex: to a team like AZ) and sign Mathieu which would in turn, offset the loss at multiple positions FS/CB/LB in dime situations. He’d likely be cheaper & just as; if not more versatile. The only thing I’d worry about is the loss of Mc Courty extremely high mental acuity; especially in our D.
Just a thought. BB is cut throat, unpredictable & economically savvy.
Tyrann Mathieu rumors: Former Cardinals safety could be eyeing New England Patriots
"
I want to go somewhere where football and defense matters," Mathieu told Breer. "...It's not all about money for me. I want to go somewhere where I can be completely immersed in football, and it's not too much about anything but winning. I want to be a part of winning culture, where you feel that all the time. That's all I want."
“The Honey Badger is regarded as one of the league's most versatile defensive backs. He can play slot cornerback as well as either safety position. The Pats are in the market for a slot corner.”
