Official Broncos @ Pats POST-game thread

Brady has now thrown for eight touchdowns and only one interception in his past three games.
Extrapolate that over a full season with this offense and that's 43 TDs and 5 INTs. You tell me who's been playing better football than him as of late with his full supporting cast healthy.

Nobody.

Ty Law "Great victory for patriots but IAm going to end on some controversy right now. How much will edelman want next yr to stay and will the patrots pay him?"
Felger :"I love it"
:bricks:

For the poster who wondered why the media hates the team. Is Felger excited about the win? No, he loves Law coming up with some controversy. Probably get a woodie if there's contentious contract negotiations.

Peyton has no shot at winning the Super Bowl this year. He just isn't a cold weather QB. The cold and wind grounded him.

More importantly IMO is his now legendary penchant for choking when the lights are the brightest. The two ridiculously bad picks within a minutes of each other were vintage. (the one called back was still a horrendous decision on his part--would have been picked regardless of whether Talib grabbed some jersey). He got got bailed out by the refs and Talib on that one.

Had the Pats ultimately lost in OT, I still would have said that, on the bright side at least the Manning/Brady debate is now officially over. Kaput. Brady took Peyton to school with fewer weapons at his disposal.

Can someone find the stat on how many teams have won games where their defense surrendered 200+ yards rushing? It can't be a winning record.

To answer your question, since 1970, when allowing 200 yards rushing, teams are a collective:

218–1441–12 (0.134)

The Patriots historically are only slightly better, at 9–53.

Maybe welker was kidding..

Phil Perry ?@PhilAPerry 1h
Welker tried to find Brady after the game on the field but he said Brady is "Mr. Paparazzi after games" so they didn't get a chance to meet

I think that means Brady gets swarmed by the press.

I left my house for the tailgate at 2:15 this afternoon and we were in the parking lot a bit after 3:00. Got home about 20 minutes ago. A long and productive day.

This looked like a rerun of the Thurman Thomas game plan.

A very good day to be a Patriot fan.

Welker had 2 drops in the 4th/OT. Also f'ed up the punt at the end.

I don't care the Amendola did nothing tonight, he was the better player in the end.

1. One of those was an epic strip-job by the DB that maybe all of two receivers in the NFL would even have a prayer to come up with.
I admit the other one was really, really bad and has me re-thinking my position about Welkers "clutchness." On the other hand, in spite of the stats, Welker made two plays that only he makes consistenly and could have ended up killing us. No question that he's still one of the most dangerous weapons in the league.

2. Your statement about Amendola makes no sense whatsoever. No offense but it's just laughable. Too many blind Welker haters around here. I just don't understand the hate for this guy.

You must not have been paying attention. Felger was gushing about the Pats win, basically guaranteeing that there will be a rematch of this in the AFCCG and that the Patriots are a better team than the Broncos.

However, I don't want to get caught up in a back-and-forth after a game like the one I just saw.

Well you just did. People just saw as epic a RS game and Patriots comeback as you may ever see in your lifetime--an instant classic that should have true fans shouting from the rooftops, yet they choose to spend a lot of time heaping bile on Welker??? Really? Did he burn you guys in fantasy football or something? I really can't think of a better explanation.

I'm still giddy over this win, it's gonna be a great holiday week, some good radio and news.

Also just watched that segment on NFLN with Irvin, funny stuff, Sanders/Irvin=keeping it real, M Faulk=bitter, miserable fraud.

I'm cold.....I'm very very ******' cold...

pardon my French...

this was colder than Baltimore 09 or last year's playoff loss

He's (Mushmouthning) a real jerk when things don't go his way.Gotta watch NFLN for the post game stuff, they SOUNDED hilarious on the radio.

Don't know if you went, Tunes, or PatsDeb but THAT was one helluva painful, joyful game, eh? Sometimes it pays to be a "stupid homer"...I think I'll stay one.

BTW, they called the "Gronk Denial" on us in the 4th quarter. Immediate call, bing, bang, bong Denver ball 1st and goal. What a total joke these media morons have made out of the obvious....oh, and for you Welker lovers that just cannot get over him leaving...I saw 4 receptions for squat and a few "Welker Specials"...Moonhead must be livid. Can't wait to see the tape of this game so until; them I'll keep my homer mouth shut for now and let the "knowers" instruct us all in the whys and wherefores of this gutty win tonight....and yes, I thought the game was over at halftime too, just like every one of you crying Peytie lovers obviously did in the game thread thread.

I have no idea what they do with Ridley. Preposterous fumble.BB obviously didn't care for it, because I never saw him again. I did see Collins pressed into action and he is F-A-S-T. Easily the fastest LB'er we have. Seemed to have a good nose for the ball. Vereen dropped a huge throw coming right at us that made me curse but what a game HE turned in. You HAVE to understand how cursedly cold that field was, it HURT to watch from my seat. I can only imagine getting hit by anything, even a feather, in that cold tonight. THese guys earned their pay, especially the kid Moreno...what did he get, like 400 yards rushing or what?

Each time Manning and Brady faced each other in the regular season, and then faced each other in the playoffs again that same season, the winner in the regular season was also the winner in the playoffs.

Here's hoping we meet again in the playoffs.:singing:

Ridley is a cool guy but man I can't even explain how terrible his ball control is.

He's got to bring it back to basics. Take the ball and just run straight through any opening. That's it. Quit the cut backs and spins. Or at least save them for the open field. Not in the "trenches."

On his fumble, IIRC he tried to spin around with the ball...and while doing that, he loses a bit of his balance and he's vulnerable to being hit at a more awkward angle at which the ball can be knocked out much easier. I can't remember all 4 fumbles he had this year, but the 3 I remember, he was trying to do something that wasn't quite necessary.

Hopefully he solves this. He NEEDS to. But on another note, we NEED to re-sign Edelman this off-season. It would kill me to see him go.

LOt of "50% haters" took it right in their mouths tonight. Guess the "Edelman can't play, has no experience, not tough enough, fumbles in big spots,Amendola clone, blah blah blah" crowd can EAD with constant rip jobs. The kid is a player...he knows the offense and haa Brady 's trust...get off his back.

and BTW, did Dobson get arrested or something....Thompkins looked like HE'S the #1 rook receiver...honestly, I don't think I saw Dobson on the field...he must have played, right?
