Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

I'm going to be stepping away (for a while or longer, I don't know). It's been great having this thread, and this sub-forum, where we've been able to have real discussions, and most of you have been great about it. Keep the place going, because Lord knows it's been needed around here.
I hope everything is Ok. I really appreciate all you contribute to this sub-forum. You will be missed. Hope to see you next season.

That would be interesting. I wonder if Brady and Payton have had any recent conversations about joining up somewhere. Dallas would be almost perfect. Solid roster on both sides of the ball in a winnable division in the weaker conference. They need another WR opposite Lamb but I'm sure Jerry can address that.

Of those three teams, I think Dallas is by far the best option. Denver is just completely off the radar because of how much they have invested in Wilson and really have no way out of it. Minnesota's defense is so bad that it's unfixable is a short period of time. Dallas could have beaten the 49ers yesterday with a competent quarterback performance. And a competent head coach. WTF was that final play all about?

Jerry needs to work some magic and jettison Dak and McCarthy for Brady and Payton.

Let’s be real Dallas isn’t happening

Retirement may not be out of the picture

In fact I may lean towards that right now

Bulls.hit lol. Literally no one anywhere agrees that retirement is likely. It's almost the opposite of last year.

Brady and Payton in New Orleans makes sense. If they joined another team together (let's say the Cowboys as a random example) that means they'd have to give up significant ammo to acquire Payton from the Saints, likely a 1st round pick. That same ammo could otherwise be used for trading for a player of need, or a rookie ready to contribute right away.

Saints aren’t even in the top 8 betting odds for Payton to coach next year

Is he supposed to say I’m going to Vegas lol

He can't say anything right now because he's still officially a Buc. This is literally the same time of the year when the Dolphins tampered with him after the 2019 season ended.

How many initially saw Tampa Bay coming back in 2020?

How many more times does Jerry want to witness his team lose in the wild card or divisional?

New Orleans works too as far as I'm concerned. It's probably as good as landing in Dallas. Watching Brady beat Bowles twice would be a good time.

I feel like Brady might murder Jerry Jones with his bare hands.

Jerry's determined and frankly desperate enough to blow up a decade's worth of the team's future for 1 or 2 golden shots at one last Super Bowl.

Dude survived not killing Bowles and leftwhich and I’m sure Jones can probably calling a better gameplan then leftwhich

Brady will never go to Dallas.
Jerruh Jones wouldn't stand it if everything goes well and they win the Superbowl Tom would get the majority of the credit. Jerry wants to win his way

hoping the Eagles D embarrasses Purdy this weekend for Brady’s sake but Shannahan will do everything in his power to make sure Purdy doesn’t single handily lose the game

Yeah and they also thought Jimmy G was The Guy until he melted down in the Super Bowl and Shanohan immediately started looking for ways to either get Kirk Cousins or a new drafted QB.

If Purdy craps the bed on the big stage the calculus changes. It always does.
This.

If the 49ers win the Super Bowl, there is no way Purdy isn't the starter next year.

If they lose with Purdy playing terribly, I think it's 50/50 Brady ends up in Santa Clara. Between Jimmy G in 2019 and this, it may inspire the 49ers to say enough is enough and we need an established top 10 QB.

Brady as a 49er would make them by far the best team in the NFC imo.
