Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Well, looks like the Bucs will desperately need to root for the Vikings tomorrow. Far better chance the Bucs upset the Eagles than the 49ers.

And I think the Brady to San Fran window, if it was ever still open, is shut.

Lmao oh my god imagine if Mahomes loses a Super Bowl to Mr. Irrelevant…that’s my new non-Bucs rooting interest.

My hunch is that things will end very badly for Brock Purdy this postseason; we'll see.

He missed a lot of throws early but he settled in. Can't do that vs Philly

The kid is playing very well and I don't want to take anything away from them but isn't it frustrating watching this team and how often they have guys just 10 yard wide open? I usually go with the best QB which is still Mahomes but I don't know if they can't beat this team without injury help and good fortune on the field. The Chiefs defense can't cover these guys either. You have to play press and make the kid throw to tight windows? He for sure has tendencies that will reveal themselves with 2 weeks prep for the SB should they make it and they will take his favorite throws away but just so many guys to defend.

49ers let the Seahawks hang around until half time. No contest in the second half. Can't like the Bucs chances in SF. I like the Vikings chances in SF less. The Eagles would have the best chance of beating SF but they'll probably have to beat Brady first.

I'm hoping CIN or BUF will knock out Mahomes. I think the AFC SB representative will win the SB.

What would need to happen with Purdy for the 49ers to consider Brady? He’d have to implode against a better defense maybe, perhaps the Eagles.
If Purdy keeps his level of.play up I would stick with Purdy. It would have to take a total implosion for me to consider TB12 and only because of the age thing. I don't know how much longer he wants to play

He'd probably benefit quite a lot by sitting behind Brady for 2 years. Maybe SF likes him, but they're wary of the possibility he could fizzle out. We've seen it happen so many times. Didn't Bortles look great at one point? Mac Jones flashed his rookie year, then regressed. Trevor Simian, Brock Osweiler are other examples who looked solid early. Even Kyle Allen a few years back looked good on the Panthers with limited talent around him. Vikings in 2017 made it to the NFCCG with Case Keenum (who was solid all year long) but he wasn't quite good enough.

No. Just no.

There is zero benefit to a QB's career in sitting for 2 years, especially when he has already played and played well his rookie season.

Zero benefit to sitting behind Brady? I'm sure it would help. If they keep him starting next year, it wouldn't surprise me in the slightest if he looks shaky in the regular season and gets benched. We see it all the time.

I REALLY hope it’s not the Titans. I know Texans and Colts suck (Jags improving and get Ridley next season) but Henry’s wheels could fall off any time, the receivers are weak, and the OL was ranked 32/32 last I looked in week 15

Yea that would be foolish. At that point, he may as well ask the Bucs to trade for Henry.

Brady joining the Raiders would reunite him with Josh McDaniels, who together won six Super Bowls in New England. McDaniels would get a quarterback who knows his complex system well and could immediately upgrade an offense that finished 12th in the league in yards and scoring this year.

Beyond that, the Raiders would also get what one source called a "program changer." Much like Brady lifted the Buccaneers to great heights in 2020 and 2021, the Raiders would get a quarterback who has won (as it stands now) 33 playoff games since the Raiders franchise last won one.

Raiders to aggressively pursue Tom Brady, believe QB can be 'program changer' after disappointing 2022 season

the dream is for Purdy to **** the bed in these playoffs so Brady can go there but I don’t know if that is going to happen. Shannahan is such a good play caller and that team is stacked with talent

I think it’s Raiders or Dolphins if he doesn’t resign in Tampa or retire

Well let’s see what happens with the Dolphins today first…

Brady would put up stupid numbers with McDaniels calling the plays, Jacobs (who I assume would come back if Brady comes), Adams, Renfrow, Waller, and maybe Gronk?

they would need to spend all their money on defense

Yes and their offensive line finished ranked 11 so they’re not that bad and that’s without Brady who elevates the line. They would have a lot of money to fix the defense all they would need to be is average with offensive power like that

What is their defense most weak at and who’s available to fill those needs?
