Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Here’s the first injury report for Bucs and Cowboys. Lots of names on Tampa side but most are full participants. All three potential centers for Bucs limited today.

Ryan Jensen continues to practice for a third week as he returns from knee injury. Bucs have until Wednesday to decide on activating him from injured reserve.

I am just going by what they said in the "Cleveland '95"
Belicheck in 5 drafts for the Browns only drafted 1 player who got ProBowl/All Pro nods and that was Eric Turner the #2 overall pick.

He was not on the Ravens when they won.

Looking at his picks I didn't see a single started on the Ravens 2000 team that Bill drafted.

I think the claim is that Belichick scouted Ray Lewis. Which I don’t even care even if he did.

He didn't scout him, what he did was trade the 95 first rd pick for the 96 1st rd pick that Ozzie Newsome used to select Ray Lewis.

He did help Parcells to scout him for the Pats and he was their top guy if he fell to their 2nd rd pick

Just like how Danny Ainge is the best GM in all of sports. He really really wanted to trade for Kevin Love, Jimmy Butler, Paul George, Kawhi Leonard, AND Anthony Davis. I mean he didn’t actually do any of it, but he wanted to!

Ainge is a better GM than Belichick IMO.

As a HC Bill is the GOAT. As a GM he is average with his coaching skills to make up for his GM skills.

Bill Walsh is the GOAT GM/HC combo.

That’s just Pro Football Reference’s own stupid calculation. It’s not exactly some iron clad law of the land.
Their calculations reflects the over importance of Pro Bowls and All Pros for the HOF.

That's why one of the best playoff performer for a WR will not get in the HOF, that's Julian Edelman.

That's why a superior resume like Ronde Barber from a small market losing franchise is having a hard time getting into the HOF. While an inferior resume, from successful and or big market teams like Revis is likely a first ballot hall of famer.

Revis is in no small part responsible for Mark Sanchez making it to two AFCCGs. There is nothing more impressive than that.

Brady's possible last regular season game sure ended with a whimper thanks to Bowles.
Ended it with his first loss against Falcons and his 1st losing season.
Bucs don't deserve Brady back unless they go all in for him starting with an OC with his stamp of approval.

If it's Brady's last year. He ends it with 23 years experience with only 21 years as a starter.

His passing yards 89214 and TDs of 614 will be hard to beat but are beatable by these guys if they play to at least 40.

Mahomes average for the 5 yrs he started is 4848py and 38td. With 17yrs to 40 he projects 82419py and 653tds. I can see Brady's TD record in danger.

Herbert averages 4694py and 31td. With 18yrs to 40 he projects 84534 and 564td. He's already playing at a high level and hasn't missed games. He'd have to play past 40.

Joe Burrow started at an older age at 24yo and missed half a season already, so he likely won't be threatening Brady's records.

I don’t even care if Joe Burrow is the guy who threatens any of Brady’s stats. As long as it’s not Mahomes.
I never thought I’d dislike an athlete more than Manning or LeBron but Mahomes takes the cake. and it’s not even really him. it’s the other idiots that talk non stop about him being the GOAT/future GOAT

It didn't look like Mahomes would beat all time records the way he was playing the first 3 years, reckless and getting hurt. But he has been playing smarter and still making plays. Some QBs who can run never learns that lesson (likely cause they aren't good or mediocre without running ie Lamar and Fields).

Other mobile QBs aren't as good when they can't escape pressure and have to use their arm more (ie Wilson). We'll have to hope that applies to Mahomes in his 30s.

Coke on man Mahomes isn’t ring chasing and blaming teammates in his prime like lebron and that with leaving out the politics

Both efficiency and longevity stats are always going to be surpassed as the league continues to become more offense oriented, the position inevitably improves, and guys play longer. I think I saw a stat a few years ago that Joe Montana retired with the highest passer rating ever (92.3) and the league average that year was higher. Hey, Mac Jones is only a little off of that mark! I remember when Dan Marino's 420 TD passes were thought to be insurmountable. That's why winning and championships become so important because you're playing against peers who have the exact same conditions throughout their eras and why Brady's legacy will be secure for a very long time.

Mahomes is winning at an almost .800 clip which is very significant, but he really choked away that AFCCG last year...a second championship would have been huge for his legacy. The winning pct is pretty remarkable to the degree you have to acknowledge it isn't hype, but last year's choke job was also pretty significant...that was in all honesty the worst situational football I've ever seen from a high caliber QB.

Bowles is a useless pile of sh*t but Brady reportedly talked his way into starting that game. The team sucks without Brady so it's no surprise that when Brady & co. exited the game they got outscored 0-20 in the second half. Shutout by a lousy defense. Just pathetic.

If Mahomes plays long enough then with his current pace he's going to pass Brady in a lot of categories. But he's 6 Super Bowls behind, and especially with all of the other elite young QBs in the AFC, I doubt he'll catch up there. Burrow is obviously great too but he's not winning 7 Super Bowls.
