It's easy, and only takes a few moments. They should abandon the running game on 3rd downs, short yardage, and red zone. Their running game has been an abysmal failure in all of those areas through 7 weeks. Passing offense is struggling to score as well however I'd much rather keep the ball in Brady's hands in those situations. Their potential for improvement in the passing game is far greater than improvement in the running game. With all the defensive injuries piling up, I wouldn't be surprised if Baltimore scores 30.
Can the Bucs score 30 too? Well they move the ball well enough between the 20s but keep on shooting themselves on 3rd down and red zone.
No Packers or Rams at this point. Probably one of those two will get in. The Rams still may win that division. If Tampa Bay gets hot by the end of the season I could see them prevailing in the NFC playoffs. If the playoffs started today this would be the seeding in the NFC.
1 - Philly
2 - Minny
3 - Seattle
4 - TB
5 - NYG
6 - Dallas
7 - SF
The Breece Hall injury is going to kill the Jets... he was literally carrying their offense. Zach Wilson has done nothing during their 4-game winning streak. And the AFC:
1 - Bills
2 - KC
3 - Tenn
4 - Ratbirds
5 - Jets
6 - Chargers
7 - Miami
I'm sorry, it's actually six Bucs players ruled out, as Russell Gage was also ruled out (hamstring). So Gage, Brate, Goedeke, Davis, Winfield, Murphy-Bunting all out. Akiem Hicks would make it seven out, meaning Kyle Trask dresses as third QB.
Bucs will have rookie corner Don Gardner elevated from the practice squad Thursday against the Ravens, with corners Carlton Davis and Sean Murphy-Bunting out. They'll have Jamel Dean and rookie Zyon McCollum, so Gardner can help primarily on special teams, making his NFL debut.
Goedeke may lose his starting job Thursday if Leverett just plays average. That's how bad Goedeke has been
PFF is not the gospel by any means but it's a good indicator on some things. They had Leverett graded as a top 3 guard on Sunday on the snaps he played.Something's got to happen. The team cannot continue the way it's going, and that all starts with the LT/LG/C combo.
Holy **** just put Gage on IR till he’s ready just wasting his talent having him out there on that hamstring
Eagles traded for DE Robert Quinn, per source.
Compensation update: Eagles are sending a fourth-round pick to Chicago in exchange for DE Robert Quinn, per source.
Man, the Eagles aren't ****ing around...
Lamar has really cooled off since his hot start to the season. The Ravens are a run first, run often offense so they may not exploit the Bucs holes in the secondary. I don't think the Ravens score 30+ points in this one. They've been playing better on defense but if you look at their overall stats their secondary can be had. The Bucs should come at the Ravens with an aggressive passing game and try to get them on their heels early. They are going to get steamrolled and the OC will be let go with a long week to figure it out. Still many weeks left to qualify for the playoffs after that but it's hard to imagine this team ever beating the AFC contender who makes it through. Godwin isn't right and no one can get open quickly. TB12 looks rattled and in self protect mode and the defense might look good on 'paper', but they are undisciplined and can't stop anyone when it matters. Can't blame them much this year though since they are built to play with a lead and they basically never had that chance.
Here’s final injury report for Bucs and Ravens. Encouraging that Akiem Hicks is questionable and not doubtful. Calais Campbell out for Baltimore.
Hard to disagree with any of this. I actually think Brady wasn't happy with the OC last year, not Arians. That's pure speculation but I think the whole Brady pushed Arians out thing is completely wrong. That aside though the offense is dead last in play action %, almost dead last in running efficiency and actually dead last in running efficiency on first down. They are a disaster. Watching highlights of the last 2 years it's clear Brady misses gronk and I don't think the problem they have this year can be fixed with Brady at QB unless they just go out and gamble on a high number of plays. AB was the best WR on this team by a huge margin and he's gone. No one on that roster can get open quickly. No one. You can't fix that. I'm not saying they can't win the division etc etc, but I don't think they can win the SB unless they do like the Eagles did to us and every single thing goes right and the officials help. The defense is the same it's always been.. big talking no control. When TB avgs 30 points a game you can win with a defense like that but not with an avg offense. They won't change ANYHING before this coming game if I had to bet but fournette shouldn't start, the LG shouldn't start(Just saw above he's out) and devin white should be in on situational downs only. Problem with the last one is they are already thin at LB. It's just a disaster.Lamar has really cooled off since his hot start to the season. Leftwich has had a terrible season as a play-caller but there's no way he gets fired midseason. The real clown on the coach staff is Bowles... he's just not HC material. Arians is a buffoon but he has a dynamic personality and he could motivate his players.
Cincy has already lost to the Ratbirds but they're part of the rest of the AFC that's within 1 or 2 losses of the 6 seed. Anything can happen in the AFC.They should abandon the running game on 3rd downs, short yardage, and red zone. Their running game has been an abysmal failure in all of those areas through 7 weeks. Cincinnati probably wins the North with Baltimore getting in as a wild card. The rest of that list probably won't change. Although Miami has an extremely difficult December schedule (@SF, @LAC, @BUF, GB).
I don't think we're disagreeing too much. You really didn't dispute anything I said, unless you think Bowles is a good HC. I don't think your wrong with most this stuff (above) but perhaps you're overstating some of it. The last two games have been a disaster for sure but I'm not ready to flush the entire season down the toilet yet. I think the offense can produce at a much higher level and the defense is probably good enough (when healthy). Gronk and AB are big losses but I'm not buying their offense is suddenly hopeless without them. Hopefully they'll show some signs of life tomorrow night.Hard to disagree with any of this. The Breece Hall injury is going to ruin their offense. And Zach Wilson still sucks. Patriots should beat them this weekend. The Jets have looked good every time I've watched them. Hopefully their fan sites won't be able to carry a Pats Suck thread for the next decade.
I don't think Bowles is a great head coach but I think coaching is overstated. He lacks where it's most important though which is managing people. No I'm not disagreeing with anything you said. I think things are very bad if you consider Brady unloads the ball so fast and they are still having bad protections.I don't think we're disagreeing too much.
