From what I've seen on Twitter there's a chance Godwin can play. Godwin/Jones/Gage should be enough. Although Green Bay has an excellent secondaryI mean I can’t think of any argument that could be made to overturn it.
Bucs have signed receiver Kaylon Geiger and linebacker Kenny Young from the practice squad to the 53-man roster. Running back Gio Bernard and tackle Josh Wells are going on injured reserve, missing next four games at least.
Bucs have signed receiver Cole Beasley and former 49ers tackle Justin Skule to the practice squad today as well. Both potential elevations this week.
Today is a scheduled day off for Julio Jones, and Chris Godwin was not out at practice during the window open to media. Godwin is working his way back from a hamstring injury sustained in the opener at Dallas.
Still no Donovan Smith as Bucs returned to practice. He missed Sunday’s game vs. Saints after hyperextending his elbow in the opener vs. Dallas.
And strangely, for all the fuss around Tom Brady getting a veteran rest day every Wednesday this season, he was out at practice today, going through workouts, helmet and everything.
And here’s first look at Bucs practice squad receiver Cole Beasley, wearing No. 15 for Tampa Bay.
We'll see how Beasley feels, conditioning-wise, but reasonable to think he could have a good grip on a portion of the playbook and dress Sunday to help with receiver depth if the Bucs don't have Godwin/Jones again. There's an immediate need for help there.
Bucs can use Beasley's elevations from practice squad and play him for next three games before he needs a spot on the 53. Hard to know how the injuries will shake out between now and then.
Hahaha a lot of people look like fools
That looks like a practice rep to me.
Wonder when AB getting that surgery he desperately needed
Getting tricky at tackle for Bucs -- with Wells on injured reserve, if Donovan Smith can't go, Brandon Walton would start at left tackle. The swing tackle would be Fred Johnson, and behind him they have rookie Dylan Cook and veteran Justin Skule on the practice squad.
Gio Bernard going on injured reserve means Ke'Shawn Vaughn will now dress as the third back after being inactive first two weeks. Doesn't necessarily mean offensive snaps, but playing on special teams for sure. Bucs barely used White as second back Sunday.
With Akiem Hicks injured, Bucs are bringing back a familiar face in defensive lineman Khalil Davis, a 2020 draft pick who will sign to their practice squad today. He's spent time with Colts and Steelers since he was cut by the Bucs last season.
