Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Thank god for Brady coming back I swear to god. That’s all I can say.

I wonder if they have any kind of assurances from Gronk and Suh or if they are miles apart on 1 or both. You gotta figure 7-10mil each unless no one shows interest in them at all. I still think they need to go DL but a linebacker wouldn't be the end of the world. It will all come down to injuries anyway.

As a result of trading down tonight from 27 to 33, the Bucs won't need as much salary cap space to sign their draft picks. If they stay at their current spots, they'd need only $1.02 million in new cap space to sign eight draft picks. (33 cap hit is $850,000 less than 27)

Possibly, but they also have several players to chose from at positions of need like Booth (CB), Dean (LB) and Mafe (DL). Also all of the TEs are available

Forget Dean Booth has to be the pick he should already be on his way to Tampa. He protects Tampa in case Dean or Davis gets hurt

No argument from me on that, but there are other quality options if they want to go in a different direction.

Yup Giants, Tennesse, and Seattle all need QBs and Seattle has a lot of seconds.
I'm going to guess Bucs trade back with Seattle swapping their 33rd and 60th pick for Seattle's 40th and 41st pick.

That would be fantastic, but doubt Seattle would do that. They probably take Hall

They got who they wanted all along

now do the Bucs trade up to get McBride?

Logan Hall will be a defensive lineman for the Bucs -- matches up as a three-technique. At 6-6, 285, he's probably closest to Will Gholston in body type, but Todd Bowles said he's probably a better athlete. Could see him easily adding bulk to 295 in a hurry.

Bowles said they had 4-5 players they liked at 27, so they were comfortable trading down to 33, but Logan Hall was the only one left from that group, so they didn't want to trade down any farther from 33 today.

Bowles said drafting Logan Hall wouldn't preclude the Bucs from still re-signing Ndamukong Suh, though obviously it cuts into the need and potential playing time.

Logan Hall is fairly young, just turned 22 one week ago today. @dpbrugler points out that he had elbow surgery in December. Was just 220 pounds when he arrived at Houston, now up to 285.

More than three months ago, our @dpbrugler projected the Bucs to use their top draft pick on Houston defensive lineman Logan Hall.
