Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

Tell me about it. It's a match made in heaven perfectly tailored for a 46yo QB.

The problem is that the 49rs are proving that they can just plug any QB and be successfully. They're going to be arrogant like before and believe they don't need Brady as they can win with anyone.

In fairness, why plug in a 46 year old QB when they have Purdy and Lance and possibly could resign Jimmy on the cheap? I do think Brady may have a difficult time finding a solid team next year. He has finally started to look his age IMO. I know there are a ton of issues with the Bucs but he can't elevate like before and any contender is going to want that.

It's won nothing.

Yes there are a tons of issues, so many. So how much of it is Brady and how much everything else? It's just like 2019 again. I only thought he had 1 year left but he's still playing 3 years later. In 2019, the problem was simple to point out - terrible at WR and TE, with an average OL and RBs.

LVR and a couple other teams can provide Brady with the strong supporting cast that he absolutely needs. But unlike 2019, it will only be for 1 year this time. It will be harder for a team like Vegas/49rs/Pat's to roll the dice just for 1 year.

Anyways, it may be moot. How Brady does the last month will be a big tell on whether he will retire or not.

I've accepted this one as a loss. I think the Bengals will have their way with the Bucs defense. I'm just hoping the Bucs offense can finally get something going, probably playing from behind. And Cincinnati's pass defense isn't that great. It would be nice if Brady could get a 300 yard, 3 TD game under his belt (similar to the KC game) heading into the final three very winnable matchups. The Bucs might be in second place after the weekend if the Panthers can beat the Steelers. Ugly season.

With all the injuries on D, I expect the Bengals to get around 30 points.

This analysis gives me hope that a 3Td, 300 yard game is doable for Brady.

Well one isn’t a source at all it’s an anonymous twitter account that just spits out random stuff. The other actually is a source.

We’ll see. I think it’ll almost entirely depend on if there’s an attractive spot ready for him to just come in and be contending for a Super Bowl. And there are very few teams out there that fit that bill which don’t already have a franchise QB.

The 49ers are perfect. Weak conference mediocre division. But unless something cataclysmic happens and Purdy turns into a complete pumpkin they are not in the market for any QB.

The Raiders might fit that in that they certainly have a championship level offense but their defense is not good. Could that be buffed up in one offseason? Maybe idk. More importantly they’re in a ridiculously tough division.

The Titans I thought were good but everyone here thinks they aren’t so idk I don’t watch them. They’d need a #1 receiver again.

The Rams are interesting if Stafford retires due to spinal injury but I think that team has significant problems beyond just the QB. They were struggling while he was playing.

Guaranteed Brady wants to play next season but at this moment I'm sure he doesn't even know what he's going to do. As always I'm sure he's focused on making the best of this season. Depending on how things go he'll reevaluate his situation and options. I think the bottom line will be if he believes he can still play at a high level or not. If he does decide to continue playing then he'll definitely have options.

I honestly think New England would be smart to bring him back for a couple of seasons while developing Zappe for the future. Trade Jones. The hype surrounding Brady's return to New England would be unprecedented.

49ers, Rams, Raiders and Titans all should be interested too. He'd be a great fit for the NFC teams... both teams will be contenders next season. Raiders and Titans even with the best Brady could offer at this point probably still couldn't complete with the elite teams in the AFC.

Btw I think Miami is very gradually opening back up as a possibility. They’re almost surely losing tonight in Buffalo. Like, come on. So they’ll be 8-6. Then they have the Packers, who well, can win. Probably won’t but they can. Then the Pats who are in a similar situation with the Packers. So it’s pretty plausible they’re suddenly 8-8 against the Jets in week 18. I don’t think that gets them in the playoffs.

If they blow their huge playoff position lead I think heads will roll. Tua might be screwed.

Whatever happens enjoy the last few games he has left. Never going to see this run again

Miami is a possibility. Brady would only consider the Jets if it's his only option and he really wants to play another season. Even then I don't think he'd sign there.

Mahomes is a dynamic quarterback but he's too unconventional and he makes too many mistakes to become a multi-time Super Bowl winner... I think 3 is his ceiling. Which still is an impressive number.

Allen's potential is off the charts if he stays healthy this his fullback mentality. However I don't really trust Buffalo to sustain the talent around him.

Burrow looks to me like the guy who could win the most Super Bowls of the young elite quarterbacks. He seems to have the intangibles or it factor. I like his head coach too. And they're really building a dynasty type roster there.

Mahomes is special for sure, but yes he makes a lot of mistakes. He gets away with it because teams don't intercept the balls he throws. He is super clutch though.

Allen has all the talent in the world , but he is not as clutch as Mahomes. No playoff success yet and he keeps losing to Kansas City.

I agree with most of your Burrow take, but of all three of them I don't think either sniffs 4 Superbowls

Mahomes has yet to prove he can consistently get through the gauntlet of his rival pro-bowl/all-pro QBs like Brady did for 18 years.
