Official 2022 Tompa Bay Gronkaneers Thread

So Ryan thinks the games become easier because Brady's such a perfectionist and the practices are hard. This goes directly against the claim that Temperamental Tommy was the reason Harry struggled.

Every time I see and hear players glowing about Brady it makes it more annoying that he's gone. What a stupid move.

Where did this dumb notion of Brady to MIA come from? NVM don't want to know.
Probably someone taking Flores story and being creative with it.

No doubt about it, Brady was flirting with the enemy

That "prominent QB" was Tom Brady, according to Joe Schad of the Palm Beach Post. Brady had just finished what would be his final season with the New England Patriots and was set to become an unrestricted free agent in March, when he ultimately chose to sign with the Tampa Bay Buccaneers.

Gotta assume he's depth. Played mainly RG and RT which Bucs have covered.

Bucs like Fred Johnson as a tackle -- can compete for backup job in training camp. Was a healthy scratch much of last season for Bengals, has played in 23 games, eight starts. Bucs had him at their local predraft workout in 2019, as Gators are within their "local" radius.

Amid rumors of Tom Brady joining the Dolphins, a source tells @jeffphowe that there's nothing happening between the two. In fact, TB12 is still recruiting free agents to come join him in Tampa Bay.

Not sure how anyone could believe it at this point. I could certainly believe he was interested after the season and before free agency. Sometimes the answers are very obvious. Brady went to England and was seen at soccer match with Glazer. A day later, he un-retired, followed by the Bucs making a series of win-now free agency moves, extending Godwin, bringing in Gage, etc. These events can't just be coincidental. If there was some kind of power play going on, it's over.

Volin's theory of Brady wanting to transition to Miami management/ownership is probably the one that makes the most sense to me. It seems like the one theory that best fits the known data.

Bucs are bringing back their top backup tackle, Josh Wells, on a one-year deal. Has stepped in as a starter over past three years. Deal is $1.12 million total, with $895k fully guaranteed.

Bucs have set up good competition for their backup offensive line jobs, signing tackles Josh Wells and Fred Johnson today. If they draft a guard, they’ll have Stinnie, Hainsey, Leverett, others competing for interior spots.

Ronald Jones going to Chiefs is the fourth free agent to leave the Bucs this month, following guard Alex Cappa (Bengals), safety Jordan Whitehead (Jets) and tight end O.J. Howard (Bills). All to AFC teams so far …

Bucs right now are projected to get a fifth-round comp pick for losing Whitehead and a seventh for Howard. (Signing Gage negated any pick for Cappa). For Bucs to get one for losing Ronald Jones, he'd have to make ~$2.6m in 2022 by current projections:

Can't wait to see Ronald Jones drop Mahomes' simple outlet passes.

He’s a pretty good downhill runner with power and speed. He sucks at everything else. Hard to overstate how bad he is when it comes to pass catching, route running, intangibles (always falls short of first down due to stupidity/bad instincts.) Truly a unique player.

I thought Williams was really good last year for KC. It changed their offense when they started dumping it off to him.

He's an above average runner and can make some big plays. Chiefs are all about big plays.

He's a bad blocker as well as a bad pass catcher.
Don't see him lasting more than a year.
