Official 2018 Draft Day Three (Rounds 4-7) Thread

Draft is 4 rounds.. Number of players drafted in rounds 5-7 who turn into good non-STers is statistically negligible. And before people bring up Tom Brady, please reread that last sentence. They're just picking their favorite dart to throw right now.

This whole thing is dumb, although Osweiler did play a major part in the Broncos winning their Super Bowl. Racked up a few key wins to help them secure #1 seed and 1st round BYE. As much as I hate to say it.

They were there. It was apparently more important to be able to get extra picks in the 6th round and next year, though.

Could you please show us the people on the Patriots draft board who BB ignored to get extra picks this year and next?

You still worry about this defense. It will be interesting to see how this secondary plays. They where awful last year in the rankings and played better as the season went on but the true colors came out in the super bowl although who knows what would have happened with butler.
Better play from the front 6 will make the secondary play much, much better

DEFENSIVE BACKS (8)
CB: McCourty, Gilmore, J Jones, Rowe, Dawkins
S: McCourty, Chung, Harmon

So you don't project Duke Dawson to make the roster? I think that list is a bit premature. Let's see how the kids look in camp first.

The defense did that. Osweiler, like Manning just managed to avoid sucking so bad that they lost, but even that was difficult for him.

wow . And Cowboys about Dak..

Taking a 6th round QB says literally nothing about your competent starter. Literally nothing. The Pateiots took QBs in the 3rd, 4th rounds when Brady was in his 20s and 30s! Nobody declared O'Connell or Cassel a referendum on Brady.

If it's anything, it's a referendum on Brandon Weeden or Kellen Moore or whoever their backup is.

Other teams found a way to trade up in the first round. Did Goodell outlaw such things for the Patriots?

Teams have to WANT to Trade with the Patriots. But hapless people like yourself can't be bothered to remember that.. Or to remember that other teams may not want to trade down if they feel the guy they want won't be there anymore..

The Patriots now have THREE 6th round picks and the 1st pick of the 7th round.

I can't find any website that is reporting these day 3 trades but apparently BB has been very busy while our fans have been even busier jumping off bridges due to his picks.

Lol. Would have jumped off a bridge too if I could find one without water down there. Don’t want to limp away. Jk

I constantly fail to take into account how many guys were out last year that will be back, as well as the additions in FA. This D should be damn good. A coverage LB is the one true need.

It seems silly to criticize typos, especially on the spelling of new players

Ok, whose 2019 5th rd pick are the Pats trading the next pick for?

However, the number of players on a 53 man roster that were not drafted in the first 4 rounds is NOT insignificant.

The odds may be 1 in 3 or worse as one goes form 5 to 6 to 7 to UDFA, but the point remains.

I was just teasing you dude. Don't take it serious. LOL. All of these snap judgments and projections on the spot are premature at this point in time. We'll know a lot more about this draft class when they actually get into pads and get some coaching.

np

Agreed.

However, those is draft in the first 4 rounds ALWAYS make the 53.

And players drafted after Round 4 have less than 1 chance in 3 of making the 53.
