Some noxious FAIL from Drafttek.com's latest mock. . . .

27. Andre Branch, Clemson, DE43
31. Alfonzo Dennard, Nebraska, CB
48. Jerel Worthy, Michigan State, DT43

Not something I'd do cartwheels over, but not FAIL-worthy. . . .

62. Ben Jones, Georgia, OC
93. Brandon Washington, Miami (FL), OG
126. Nate Potter, Boise State, LOT

The poster of this mock called it "refreshing."

I've left the text as is; I've just cleaned up the "pick lines." BTW—there's a spit take warning for the last paragraph!

27. Rueben Randle, WR, LSU
Tom Brady is 35 in three months and Ryan Mallet will be more than ready to lead the Pats in 3 to 4 years when Brady retires. Randle is the perfect vertical threat along with an excellent red zone target and will have time to develop to be an incredible WR. He can not only help Tom but will be Mallets #1 target for the many years of his career as the future Pats franchise QB.

-Another reason Lloyd+Branch+Welker are well over the age of 30. Young movement starts now!

Patriots trade 48 + 62 to Green Bay for 28
28. Shea McClellin, OLB, Boise State

Mike Vrabel type with better pass rush abilities and more athleticism.

31. David DeCastro, G, Stanford

Waters is old and Mankins is not getting any younger. DeCastro Will be protecting Mallet for many years.
Future O-Line=Vollmer, Cannon, Connoly, Decastro, Solder

Patriots trade 2013 4th, 5th, 7th(!) to Arizona for 80
80. Alameda Ta'amu, DT, Washington

Behemoth, Run clogger, he and Wilfork will eat up running lanes. Pats could put just Ta'amu and Wilfork on D-Line and blitz LB's on certain downs=SCARY!!

93. Keenan Robinson, OLB, Texas
Big(6'3 250pds), quick, can rush the passer and also drop into coverage

126. Joe Adams, WR, Arkansas

Joe Adams is a quicker Wes Welker and better returner. What better player to select that one Mallet is already familiar with. Excellent in the slot.

CB will be addressed in next years draft along with SS(Sergio Brown does look promising tho+McCourty and Arrington are young and talented)

A surprisingly bad mock from Kiper, who usually knows what our needs are,
sometimes better than Bill himself:

Exploring Upshaw as option at 27 - New England Patriots Blog - ESPN Boston

At nearly 280 now, Upshaw is no longer athletic enough to play 3-4 OLB for us;
Jenkins' off-field idiocy makes him a 3rd-round value;
Robinson is OK, though maybe a half-round too soon;
Brooks is not an athletic fit in the 2nd round for this OL, the 5th-round value pick
of the similar, 2nd-round talent Marcus Cannon notwithstanding;
and the small-handed, inconsistent Givens does nothing for me.

Edit: after reading Kiper's Grade-A mock for all 32 teams, I believe that Sanu, Criner, Childs
and Marvin Jones would all still be available at 93. I'd draft each one of them ahead of Givens.

As this thread nears its final days, some tasty FAIL from CBSSports.com:

2012 NFL Mock Drafts - CBSSports.com NFLDraftScout.com

31. New England Patriots
Jonathan Martin, OT, Stanford: It is widely assumed that the Patriots already drafted their potential replacement for left tackle Matt Light a year ago with Nate Solder. Should Martin be available at this point in the draft, he'd provide the team with the option of keeping Solder on the right side. Having protected Andrew Luck's blindside for the past three seasons, Martin is used to the pressure of pass blocking for a star quarterback and is pro-ready.

27 Courtney Upshaw DE Alabama 6' 2" 262
31 Devon Still DT Penn State 6' 5" 311
48 Peter Konz* OC Wisconsin 6' 5" 315
62 Shea McClellin DE Boise State 6' 3" 262
93 Bernard Pierce* RB Temple 6' 0" 218
126 Jeff Fuller WR Texas A&M 6' 4" 215

Hmmm. . . . something seems missing. . . . Can't figure out what it might be. :rolleyes:

Oh, and as bonus FAIL, here's their 2013 two-round mock (assuming same pick order):

31 Tavarres King WR Georgia 6' 1" 184
62 Tavon Austin WR West Virginia 5' 9" 173

I'm pretty sure that he is ASSuMIng a trade with someone who will then take Weeden. Lombardi actually worked with BB in Cleveland, so he has what we call: "Street cred".

Speaking of mock fail, Greg Bedard has us taking DB Trumaine Johnson at 27, then trading 31 to Indy so they can take TE Coby Fleener.
I would be shocked if Bill made a trade w/ Indy, even if NaPolian is no longer in the building.
And I love Johnson as a CB-FS possibility, but not until 48 at the earliest.
