OBJ to Pats—what do we think?

Amendola brings a different skillset than Edelman. You are acting as if Edelman is simply a replaceable player in this offense. He is not.

Of course he's a replaceable player. The only irreplaceable player during the Brady era has been Brady. That's just historical fact.

Not only does is Edelman clutch, he has a chemistry with Brady that cannot be replaced. even by Amendola.

Brady has had that chemistry with every one of his slot WRs. It's essential because of the read requirements.

top of that, Edelman is clearly the leader of the WR corps and the heartbeat of the offense.

The heartbeat of the offense, just like the head of the offense, is Tom Brady. Edelman is just one of the 3 current "go to" receivers, along with Gronk and White. And there's nothing wrong with that.

stand by my statement of Edelman's importance to the team's chances of winning a super bowl. You replace Cooks last year (even if he played the whole game) with Edelman and you have a better team in the super bowl. The Pats could barely move the ball at all in the 1st half, and the Eagles dominated TOP.

You keep making assertions that are nothing more than unfounded opinions, and those opinions generally run counter to obvious truths. And the Patriots drives in the first half were

#Quarter Time LOS P - Pass, R - Rush, Y - Penalty">Plays Length Yds Result
1
1 07:55 NWE 25 9 3:38 67 Field Goal
2 1 02:34 NWE 18 8 3:21 74 Missed FG
3 2 13:11 NWE 37 5 1:18 28 Downs
4 2 08:48 NWE 25 5 1:24 48 Field Goal
5 2 05:01 NWE 10 7 2:57 90 Touchdown
6 2 00:34 NWE 25 5 0:34 48 End of Half

Total yardage: 355

so claiming that the Patriots could barely move the ball is ludicrous.

Please get us OBJ I guarantee brady will win 2 more SB and play till he’s 45. OBJ loves brat and B.B. no way he causes trouble. With OBJ/Edelman you add in Sony our offense is unstoppable give up the kitchen sink

You really have to consider this move. WR2s in FA are gonna be paid 6-8 million if they're solid - Adam Humphries will for sure. Now, do you want a guy like OBJ who is gonna have $14 mill/year cap hit since the Giants absorb a big part of the cap number from guarantees, or someone like Humphries, who we've been linked to for a while now? Odell on a 5 year deal seems like it'll be a huge bargain come 2021 or 2022. He'd still be playing when Brady leaves, which opens up future success too. A 1st and 3rd would be well worth it - think about what we gave for a year of Cooks.

Can’t blame them. If I was a GM of a team and BB called me up about a trade I would immediately hang up lol.

If I was a GM on another team, I would have my secretary screen calls.

Are you a robot?
Are you Bill Belichick?

If not, you may talk to me.

Bill Belichick isn’t Danny Ainge, he isn’t infamous for only fleecing people. He makes fair trades.

San Fran says hi.

Yeah but it's not the same cap number. 25+ million for both and only 14 for Odell. I doubt we can fit in Flowers and Brown.

OBJ at 14 means you probably can't afford either.

They mostly are fair trades. The fleecing takes place after the player is acclimated to the roster and Bill’s vision for that player is put into place. Doesn’t always work out, but when it does he usually comes away looking like King Midas.

They can if Gronk retires.
Or just cut/restructure Gronk and his 10+ cap hit. Dwayne Allen too. It's pretty easy to get cap space if its needed.

Guessing you were joking but in reality you want an open line w Bill. He's always looking to improve his team in a league that isn't known for big trades. I'd do everything I could to get as close as possible to Bill no matter what team I worked for.

This seeems strategically leaked after that OBJ Instagram hoopla. Not sure who’d leak anything to Simms though.

OBJ at 14 means you probably can't afford either.

I am fine with that. I would prefer Odell and a replacement for Flowers via FA over Flowers and Brown.

And if it's just either or I prefer Odell over Brown/Flowers.

Don't want Beckham.
Don't want Brown.
Don't want Kapernick.
Don't want Bell.
I want who the Patriots want.

Is there a contest going this off-season to see who can bring up the worst choice for the Pats? It sure seems that way.

I also want OBJ because Mike Felger would HAAAATE it and rant for months about how the Pats sold their soul. So keep that factor in mind.
