OBJ to Pats—what do we think?

It's not just us that won SB's without a top end WR. Most teams win without them. Let's look back.

Philly - Nope
Pats - Nope
Denver - Nope
Pats - Nope
Seattle, Ravens, Giants, Packers, Saints, Steelers, Giants, Indy, Steelers, Pats, Pats, Bucs, Pats, Ravens, Rams, Broncos, Broncos and Packers, all No.

I suppose we can make a case for Dallas and the Niners in 1995 and 1994 as having that type of WR, but that was 23 years ago.

The funny thing is that some of those same teams added that kind of top end WR talent but then didn't win. The current Steelers and Pats in 2007 are examples.

No thanks to Beckham or any other diva. It appears that teams don't need them and their headaches.

Reggie Wayne was on the Colts team you list as not having a top-end WR; he's seventh all-time in receptions in the league, and tenth in yardage; the guy who lined up across from him by the name of Marvin Harrison is already in the HOF.

Demarious Thomas is another WR he is missing out on, as is Alshon Jeffery.

Also getting to the Superbowl is great accomplishment and all it takes is 1 play and either team can win. With that said, Julio Jones, Randy Moss, Terrell Owens, Larry Fitzgerald all played in very competitive Superbowls at HOF performance levels, with Jones, Moss, and Fitzgerald making clutch catches that gave the offense the lead. You can't take away their accomplishments.

But you know, HOF DE Jason Taylor, HOF DE JJ Watt have never played in the Superbowl, so maybe having a HOF DE is a position that should be avoided.

I am just thinking about Robby Anderson. Assuming Hogan is gone he might be an interesting choice. He is still young (26).He played next to the mediocre QBs and was quite good. Having him as a deep threat would be intriguing of course for a decent price.

Why do you feel that way? Just personal opinion?

It seems reasonable to include OAK in just about any big trade scenario, considering the fact that they have 3 first round selections, and have a big weakness at the position.
