NFL Week 2 Games

Then you're horrible at QB evaluation.

You should have stuck with the trolling theory.
Yeah, Matt Ryan has definitely progressed as a quarterback and could easily dominate the NFC and NFL for the next six seasons. Id go even far as saying a Patriots / Falcons SB rematch is definitely plausible.

I think people here have been so spoiled by Brady that they've lost all sense of reason when it comes to the QB position, both when it comes to style and when it comes to apparent play level mixed with actual results.

Most people would consider

Brady
Peyton
Brees
Roethlisberger
Rodgers

as the 5 best QBs of the current era. Now, we're talking the best 5 QBs in the last 15+ years. Of those 5

Only Brady's never had a non losing full season as a starting QB after his rookie year (though Rodgers' 6-10 year was his first season as a starting QB, so there's a valid quibble factor to look at there)

So, even the very best of the very best, except for TB12, have all had losing seasons.

Week 1... Giants/Dallas - boring, Seattle/GB - boring.

Week 2... GB/Falcons - boring, Dallas/Denver - boring.

The only decent prime time game so far against supposed top teams has been Pats/KC but sadly I could not enjoy that.

Product is just awful. It's embarrassing.

Reactions from Indiana, for a bit of Colts schadenfreude:

Doyel: Colts are luckless, winless but not quite hopeless

Half the crowd was gone, having already given up on the Indianapolis Colts, when Jacoby Brissett threw a pass that had the other half — the loyal, the hopeful, the naïve — heading for the exits. It was the first play of overtime Sunday against the Arizona Cardinals, and Brissett had just thrown a pass he cannot throw, an interception into double coverage that left Lucas Oil Stadium so empty and quiet that Arizona coaches could be heard whooping it up in their box upstairs.

What, was the CD player malfunctioning again?

Problem is, the Colts don’t have the talent, the depth, the mental toughness or the health to overcome even a bad NFL team — and the Cardinals, without injured star running back David Johnson, are a bad NFL team — if they also are forced to overcome themselves. Hard to believe they can beat anyone when Brissett is throwing a bad interception and running back Frank Gore is dropping an easy pass and right guard Jack Mewhort is committing a silly penalty and left tackle Anthony Castonzo is falling apart (he was committing multiple penalties when he wasn’t being demolished by Chandler Jones) and receiver Donte Moncrief is disappearing (eight targets, two catches, 18 yards).

You mean to tell me that Hall of Famer Bill Polian and his replacement Ryan Grigson did not have a brilliant plan for the future?

Reaction: Colts lose in overtime. 'We didn't need Andrew Luck to win us this game today.'

Colts fall to 0-2 for the fourth consecutive year.

More schadenfreude, via the New York Post:

In a flash, a Jets chance becomes a brutal blowout

The Raiders call their home stadium the “Black Hole.” That could also be used to describe this Jets season....

The Jets defense got humiliated again, giving up 410 total yards and 180 rushing yards — 95 of those yards coming on two plays. The Jets have now given up 818 total yards and 370 on the ground in two weeks.

Maybe the Patriots should re-sign Jonas Gray for old times sake, prior to playing the Jete.

While we are at it, let's check in on western New York.

Buffalo Bills' offense horrendous in 9-3 loss to the Carolina Panthers

That was tough to watch, and the sad part is that Buffalo Bills fans may have to get used to more of it in 2017.

Everyone knew there were going to be days like this for the undermanned Buffalo offense, and when it happened Sunday at Bank of America Stadium, it was downright ugly. The Bills put forth one of the most anemic performances in recent memory in losing 9-3 to the Panthers...

The Bills finished with 176 total yards, and McCoy gained nine yards on 12 carries.

The Bills could not possibly have played a worse first half of offense. They managed one first down in the first 30 minutes, and that came because of a Taylor scramble to convert a third-and-7 early in the second quarter.

Taylor had six net yards passing, and the Bills had 39 yards as a team. It was as ugly as the numbers would indicate.

Didn't they win a Super Bowl with that coaching staff?

Ages ago, when there was an impression McCarthy could be a top coach. He's not. Back then I think Mark Sanchez was an up and coming starter. Just to have an idea how far that SB run dates. The picture of the league has changed and honestly even with one of the greats at the most important position in all major leagues I think they are going nowhere, anymore.

I understand that the formula for a winning team is balance between the 2 sides of the ball but with limited resources, sometimes you have to load in one side and try to get by with the other, Green Bay has never done either one, during all these years they never had an elite defense or offense. Rodgers has been doing more with less just like Brady did during the majority of his NFL career.

the pats have 2 weeks to work on their defense...

houston.....crappy QB and OL is just as bad.......
carolina.....primary target (olsen) is down.....OL also crap (yanda out for season) and even newton is running for less than 3ypc

**** you Collinsworth and Michaels. Which one of you holds Rodgers balls when he goes to the bathroom?

Its Michaels. He had his dentist make a set of invisaline braces in order to manipulate his teeth to create a perfect little throne shape for rogers nuts in his mouth

Can you say 'pot calling the kettle black'? Tomlinson is the last person to be making this type of an accusation.

LaDainian Tomlinson: Ezekiel Elliott 'absolutely quit' on the Cowboys; Jason Garrett responds

"First his attitude on the sideline. Clearly, he didn't have any communication with his teammates. But also, he didn't want to talk to his teammates. Some times when things are going wrong, as a leader of that team, as a captain, you have to step up and rally the troops. You have to go to the offensive line and say, 'I know it's tough but let's keep battling, let's keep fighting.' You have to go to the quarterback and say, 'Hey man, I'm not getting it done today - you have to step it up.' You have to rally the troops.

"They need him to do that because last year, he led the league in rushing. So everybody is looking at him as the top dog. So if you want to be the top dog, you have to do it on and off the field."

This is the same person who said that he preferred being in the Hall of Fame over winning a Super Bowl, that same player who pouted alone on the sideline hiding behind a dark visor, who has the gall to criticize another player for their effort and leadership?

smh... Tomlinson does not deserve to be given a microphone to voice his opinions to the public.

Did anyone see how Logan Ryan played this week, and last week?
