I know I've been a broken record here for decades...I know I know but...what we are seeing this year is the culmination of a continual series of tragic, idiotic decisions to mutate our once proud gridiron sports escape into this frarnkenstein like abomination. We grew up watching our teams with great players on the defensive line and at linebacker and in the secondary. Hard hitting relentless combat. We knew the QB better have his shyt together and our teams better have great TE's and at least two WR's that could break it. It was glorious, even if our team was down we could still watch other teams in other conferences with really great players. We could respect a Deion Sanders when he electrified a game even against us...or Earl Cambell running like a mad bull over our entire D for 200 yards. We'd feel the sting of defeat but in the end we always ENJOYED the play...know we won or lost because EVERY team had players worth spending the time to appreciate.
Since 2006 however, this league has gotten progressively diluted. I see the Niner TE Kittle score on a 56 yard pitch and catch tonight and wonder ...where the hell is the brutal safety play we were so accustomed to years back? Where's the Ed Reeds on these teams that would smash Kittle on that play like a launched missile? Where's the cornerback with his face to the play that sees the route and makes contact with Kittle after 10 yards. Where's the PUNISHMENT???? 2022 and the Goon finally has what he wants...a Madden reality show. Yeah, I still watch..because I'm a sucker for the game but I just don't enjoy it like I used to.

Mac also missed three games, technically 4.

And if you’re splitting blame, you’re right that it’s more than just the OC. Offensive line has been brutal also. Not just my opinion, it’s been pretty terrible. Mac’s not without blame but it’s like 90%/10% if we’re putting a percentage on it.

Yeah niners super fortunate to get their franchise QB last pick in the draft when they traded multiple picks for guy who doesn’t seem like he will ever be the guy .
