The courts should be ashamed of themselves for handing down their ridiculously lazy, and sloppy, rulings. They've brought this to pass.

Arbitration cases are being upheld even when arbitrators get the facts and/or the law wrong. It's insane. You have to be a fool (or absolutely desperate) to agree to arbitration in today's climate, unless you've got the overwhelming edge in crafting the specific rules of your arbitration agreement.

That's what makes it so funny that some players like DeAngelo Williams are so dumb to actually be backing Frauger. No idea what has just happened to their rights. Courts took a dump on CBAs and arbitration process.

Two judges ruling for the league doesn't mean a damn thing.. Cases where "two judges" have ruled one way with 2 ruling the other get heard all the time..

The fact that the 2nd Circuit didn't hear enbanc despite the overwhelming evidence that Goodell not only violated the spirit of the CBA and imposed his own brand of industrial justice, that he changed what the punishment was for, and that he violated the basic rules of Arbitration by being unfair should have caused this to be re-heard at that level. Furthermore, you have the most prominent Arbiter in the US stating that Goodell violated the rules of Arbitration and that their ruling hurts ALL future arbitration cases. He'd know more about it than the 2nd Circuit because he lives it every damn day..

The fact that they didn't rule for an en banc hearing is a travesty of justice and a disgrace. The fact that we aren't even privy to how the judges voted is shady.

Harrison's big issue has been that Goodell wanted him to fly to NY and miss practice / training camp. Harrison got his way. The league has agreed to an interview at the Steelers' facilities.

Hard to say that they "caved" when the issue wasn't whether or not they would be interviewed, but where.

I'd like to know if its legal for the NFLPA to pay players during a work stoppage.

The NFLPA could tax the players and then give back the younger/lower paid guys some percentage of their paychecks while the strike is active. Got to lessen the pains of them not getting a pay check and ease some of the financial pressure from the players that would otherwise demand a premature/early conciliation.

I also like the idea of a mid or late season strike which lets the players collect X amount of game checks.

The NFLPA can share their money if they want, but I can't imagine veterans will be terribly happy with a plan that "taxes" them to redistribute to rookies, especially since the rookies would be the one who benefit the most if the next CBA is more player-friendly.

Such a thing (which they can't do for another 5 years but could theoretically happen afterwards) is indeed a very powerful tool, but also a nuclear option. When MLBers did the same in 1994, they took a big PR hit.

I would love see the union strengthened against the league, but I have no faith in them to do what it takes.

I'm sure there could be some sort of same type level of grounds for a strike. I like the idea of striking mid-season. The owners would survive it. They could survive just of concessions alone, without charging for tickets, for a couple of years easy. Especially with the TV $ they currently receive. Imagine a year though without a Super Bowl.
