NFL Draft Talk

If the Pats trade #4 you guys think that happens when they are on the clock? Draft day? Days before?
On the clock for sure. They will want to see who has gone in top 3 to understand the real time value of the pick.

Allegedly…

I love it when people have tantrums when they get called out for posting trash, and then just lie to try to cover it. Yes, you did question whether Hunter is worth a top 4 pick. You wrote, "What is it about Hunter that you think makes him 4th pick worthy?" If you thought he was worthy, you would have never asked this. Thinking he is unworthy is absolutely delusional. Regarding your calling him a "project," every single player in the draft is a "project" since none have ever played in the NFL. Hunter is no more a "project" than any other college player entering his rookie season. Of course he needs to develop. In breaking news, water is wet. The scary part about Hunter is that he is college footballs best WR and he has not even dedicated himself 100% to the position yet. That is not a negative like you are trying to claim. Its an incredible positive. If Josh got his hands on Hunter, he could mold him from day 1 into something incredible. If you cannot see that, you really are blind or delusional.
Me asking why someone thinks he is worthy of the 4th pick is trying to get into a conversation about what that person sees in the player.

You are right that Josh will do very well with Hunter. Also correct that all players are projects.

Thank you for guiding me to the light.

That was my whole point. If you have to ask that question, you are freaking blind.

You do understand that people watching a player can come away with differering opinions right?

I enjoy watching tape and do alot of it and am always curious in what other people are seeing.

I have said in other posts that he will be a very good WR and I wouldn't have an issue if he was picked at 4 (implying he is worth it).

I also feel that Membou can be a stalwart at OT, on the right or left side. I stated that I would lean that direction.

Nobody’s “can’t miss”, and there are other receivers who I deem to have higher ceilings; however Egbuka seems to have the safest floor as any receiver in this class. NFL ready. Definition of a rock solid, with elite traits. Think Anquan Boldin lite.

I've always liked Egbuka. In fact, I believe that he has legit #1 WR potential and in fact could end up being the best WR in this draft when we end up looking at his career in the NFL 3 to 4 years after he's drafted.

If I see another Mock Draft that has us taking a never played LT at #4 in Membou (who played RT for his 3 years in college), I'm going to puke! Is it impossible that he could not only be a LT, but be a 1st Team multi-year Pro Bowl caliber one? No. But I believe it to be highly unlikely. I would still take Campbell over him at #4 (or Simmons and Conerly Jr. in a trade back into the end of the 1st Round) at LT before I'd take Membou at #4 or anywhere in the 1st Round if I want a true LT.

Always liked Dart. He’s an exciting QB prospect, and supposedly had a very good Pro Day with the Giant’s QB Coach watching. I don’t think he gets past mid first round. I don’t know if the Giants take him at 3, but he won’t be there in round 2 for them. I think he’s this year’s Bo Nix, but with a stronger arm.

He reminds me of Zach Wilson, id be terrified to take him.
I like the kid a lot he has that care free attitude, reminds me of a mix of Baker Mayfield and Rob Johnson.

Some games to specifically watch potential draft target LSU OT Will Campbell’s technique, habits, strengths & weaknesses.

I understand that if you think Travis Hunter may not be worthy of the 4th overall pic, you are either blind or a complete fool. No one cares about your feelings on Membou. The fact is your feeling isn't necessarily reality and you dont risk the 4th overall pick on a guy who has never played the position you need.

I've officially reached the paralysis by analysis phase and I don't know what to do now.

This weekend I got a little beat up on Tet and I kind of conceded and circled back to OL again because LT is obviously our biggest need and Campbell's tape is probably better than all the other prospects not named Hunter or Carter.

Also I feel the arm length is less of a red flag than Graham's weight, I was convinced it was less of a red flag than Tets speed/separation. The floor is probably very low on guys like Warren or Jeanty but can you justify RB or TE at 4?

So I landed back on Campbell and I'm feeling pretty good about it. It's our biggest need and I felt I've done my homework.

I text this off to a group chain and the first question I get is to name the last LT picked top ten to lead their team to a SB win. So I start looking back and here's what I got from the last ten years:

Sewell was picked 7th obviously Lions haven't won yet but that's a good pick. Wirfs at 13 was a need for the Bucs in 2020 but 12 was winning no matter what. McGlinchy at 9 for San Fran didn't win but got there twice. Ronnie Stanley at 6 but still no win. That's about all I found from the last ten drafts. The point would seem to be counterintuitive but extremely valid.

I maybe should go back another decade and maybe I missed someone over the last ten years but I'm now very curious as to what the board thinks about this interesting nugget of information?
LT's don't lead their teams to victories. The QB does. The LT is a supporting piece that helps enables the QB. You can have just a solid LT like a Matt Light or Nate Solder and win 6 Superbowls when you have TB12, the GOAT at QB.

We don't need an all-pro LT to get to the Superbowl if Drake Maye lives up to his potential. Just a solid gets the job done guy like Light or Solder will do. Orlando Pace is considered one of the greatest LTs to ever play the game, 7 pro bowls, and 3 all-pro selections. He only won 1 championship in his entire career.

This is why I'd be more than happy to pick up a red chip LT at bottom 1st/early 2nd as long as he can play solid and reliable. We need to spend our early pick on a blue chip impact player like a Travis Hunter or Abdul Carter.

I would like Devin Neal from Kansas at RB in the mid rounds (assuming he’s still on the board). His vision, versatility, patience, decisiveness & burst will translate well at the next level. Runs a 4.58, but the tape doesn’t lie..

I post this in regards to how they will approach the draft from an offensive standpoint.

I think that's been understood but mostly unsaid up to this point. Apparently with his time out of the league, Josh has been visiting with a lot of college programs that run spread and read option offenses. Additionally, I think it was unreasonable to have Drake learn vanilla E&P when he has already learned WC.
